What are your top ten games of all time? No more than ten please otherwise its just a long list. Also no collections; so Bioshock 2 is fine, Trilogy no. Halo 3 is fine, Halo Masterchief collection no... you get the idea. Assume its the ultimate version of the game with all its included DLC/expansions, unless it's a standalone expansion which is counted as a separate entry.

Here's mine, in no order;

1: The Witcher 3
2: The Last of Us: Part 1
3: The Last of Us: Part 2
4: Uncharted 4
5: Uncharted: Lost Legacy
6: The Evil Within
7: Alpha Protocol
8: Deus Ex (2000)
9: Tomb Raider (2013)
10: Metal Gear Solid

I made this on GAF a while ago:

The games listed in the image are Super Mario Galaxy 2, Zelda Skyward Sword, Pikmin 3, Sonic Generations, Banjo Kazooie, F Zero X, Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Ball, Yoshi's Island.

I do not have a strict order between those nine. My tenth game would be Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest.

You certainly have a type of game I'll give you that. I'm going to be emulating quite a few Ninfendo classics I missed first time round. 😁

I think that's true for both of us, though that style is vastly different between both of us ;).

Out of your list I recently played Tomb Raider 2013 and enjoyed it a lot.

I love games, but the reality is...to me at least they are are ever-evolving medium and I'm hard-pressed to think of any that I'd consider perfect in their own way versus perhaps Portal, Journey and maybe Brothers. Which all benefit from being short enough to not outstay their welcome. Everything else really falls into a 'what works/what doesn't work' and I'm always looking for what's coming up next. I guess for me at least...that is the juice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I treat games more like a movie in that an all time classic I'll come back to time and time again. That's partly because I value story so much. Don't get me wrong some games do age though and previous games like Goldeneye, Final Fantasy 7, Mario 64 etc have dropped off my list over time.

hmmm, this will be tough. No particular order after my #1.

1. Resident Evil (OG 1996 NA Release)
2. Twilight Princess
3. Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean
4. Super Mario World
5. Skate 2
6. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
7. Resident Evil - Code: Veronica X
8. GTA: San Andreas (PS2)
9. Tyrian
10. Dragon Quest 5: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Interesting that Resi original is over the Remake. You don't see that often. Is it the charm of the original?

Think I've played/owned Resi 1 the most out of any game tbh. PC (Original), PS1 (Original), PS1 (Directors Cut), DS, Gamecube (remake), 360 (remake remastered), PS4 (Remake remastered) PC (Remake remastered) 🙈

I think that the OG RE controls better than the REmake. It's probably because I've played through the original probably over 100 times and have only played REmake maybe half a dozen times. Controls in REmake feel really floaty to me and it's distracting. I still love the game but the OG release will always be my favorite. Just one of those games that gives me pure enjoyment every time I play it. I play through it probably once a month, lol. It's like zen meditation at this point.

In no order:

Doom 2016
The perfect remake. Plays perfectly, with smart level design full of interesting exploration. It's so fluid. Combat has a great pace to it and is incredibly fun.

Rocket League
I still play it to this day. The gameplay is so well balanced, dynamic and fun. Masterfully designed game mechanics.

Dark Souls
No game came close to recreate the interconnected world, the sense of discovery and wonder. While being a bit inconsistent towards the end, it is just special. Finished it like seven times.

Wave Race 64
I don't care what you say. It's the best. It's racing, on waves. With spinning shit and stuff.
Needs an RT 60fps remake.

Witcher 3 + DLCs
So much great content. Yes, the main story is lacking. The rest is awesome though. World, characters, quests, atmosphere - all great. I even enjoyed the combat. Come at me bro.
But not on consoles. PC with mods is where is at, for no weight limit, fast travel from everywhere, gore mod etc.

RE2 Remake
Very grounded feeling, tense atmosphere, engaging gameplay. Loved it. Visually beautiful, especially with reshade to remove the piss filter. The map was also genius. It's a short game, but one of my favorites.

Cyberpunk 2077 (on a high-end PC)
What a game. I played as a gunslinger and the gameplay was frantic, dynamic, fun. Like, top notch ego shooter gunplay. Add an incredible, huge and vibrant world, engaging RPG elements, an interesting but short main story. Most importantly though, the side quests and stories with the most significant NPCs have been extremely well executed. Such a good game.

Dishonored 2
Masterful level design and rewarding gameplay. Very atmospheric and intense. I love the open levels, that give you a lot of freedom in your approach. Satisfying powers that enhance your play style. A lot of cool details and hidden stuff to discover. Also, love the art style, it's beautiful and still looks great today with some reshade tweaks.

Wipeout HD Fury
60fps, beautiful, amazing controls, a ton of variety, full of content, so much racing awesomeness in one package. Hands down the best futuristic racer.

Nex Machina
A gameplay masterpiece. Fast, challenging and pure nonsense fun. While still not being too simple. Addicting as hell, the pinnacle of arcade shooters for me. Looks amazing as well.

I love REmake to death but I agree with this, the classic REs on PS1 had sublime controls! Interestingly RE0 has that same control physics as them, not REmakes' physics so if you haven't checked it out yet I recommend it for sure!

1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles
2. Megaman X4
3. Resident Evil 2
4. Resident Evil 4
5. Devil May Cry
6. Midtown Madness
7. ZombiU
8. Haunting Ground
9. Ico
10. NintendoLand

This list is too short 😅 I could go on and on with my favorite games, I'll end this post with my honorable mentions of Sonic R, Megaman X, X5, X6, X8, and Halo Reach, my favorite Halo and one of my favorite online multiplayer s in general

I would've included Bloodborne, as it's one of the best ever in my opinion. But the performance issues are so bad that I just can't include it. If it ever gets a PC or PS5 release with fixed 60fps, it'll be on my list for sure.

The combat itself is so good, but the stuttering 30fps are not doing it any justice and actively diminish my enjoyment.

What a great game, I loved it back in the days. No idea if it holds up though.

I still find it hilarious, it's sense of humor, driving my blue Ford F350 into other cars and trying to run over pedestrians and they shout out the funniest shit in the funniest tones like whAT ARE YOU DOIIIING! and Get off the road and my personal favorite...when the police causes more chaos than I could in game 🤣🤣🤣 I could swear that two of them crashed into each other at the same time lmfaooooo

One of the few games I've bought more than once. Aside from the killer art and music it's just fun as hell to play. Once you get into the groove you can destroy the levels.

Oddly enough, I didn't really care for the sequel as much.

Interesting! I think my brain registered that without realizing it because I play Zero from time and time and I can't remember ever being distracted by the controls.

ZombiU, hell yea. I considered putting that on my top 10. It's definitely in my top 10 (possibly top 5) for all time Survival Horror titles. So damn good.

Same here. And the soundtrack is the best. Regarding the sequel, it's the same with me. It didn't click.

Really surprised how many lists here don't have Bloodborne in them. C'mon guys.

I can't put a game that has constant stutter in my top 10 GOAT list. I agree that the game itself deserves it, I loved so much about it. But a game that released in the "modern" ages should not run like that, it shouldn't be acceptable.

Depends on the day. I'd totally shuffle these around a little bit, or maybe change them. All games judged by how they made me feel when they came out, and only one entrant per series, because Zelda and Mario.

1: Ocarina of Time
2: Super Mario Galaxy
3: Fortnite (Mainly the 2018 run, and yes, I am going to take a beating for this)
4: Metroid Prime
5: Halo
6: Resident Evil 4
7: Knights of the Old Republic
8: Metal Gear Solid 3
9: Life is Strange (Ditto)
10: Pikmin 2

You can pretty much tell what era of gaming I thought was best.

When judging by impact at the time, Ocarina of Time would be my number one as well. It was magical.

Man, this is a tough one. But, in no particular order:

Baldur's Gate 2
Fallout 1
Planescape Torment
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Witcher 3
Legend of Zelda (the original)
Dark Souls
Total War: Warhammer 2
Final Fantasy 7
Deus Ex

Edit: And even now I have more games popping into my head that could easily stand with the ones I've mentioned, such as Metal Gear Solid and Nioh 2. Lol
