Thread: You won $500 in a poker game
Cabinet sounds good - consider you can then stick a MiSTer in there and play any arcade game in a lovely arcade cabinet. Full awesome.

What do you buy?

I have no idea what to buy and need suggestions.
Turquoise and Silver. Like I did today at a vintage shop. And some good bourbon, get tacos for lunch and have about $150 left over.

Is the Simpsons cab no bueno?
It seems like an interesting purchase. If it was me I would probably throw it at some awesome food, like pursuitto, great steaks and good restaurants. Try some things you wouldn't normally be bothered with.

I can buy that shit anytime. This is money I can actually spend on myself without catching shit.

I own an Index, as far as VR gear goes it is top notch, although the wires/set up can be annoying.

The knuckles are great, just make sure you have enough room for your play space.

The only problem is VR games are kind of still in their infancy so lots of gimmicky or fun for 5 minutes kinds of experiences

The Index is tempting. Anyone own one?
I don't have one, and it's awesome tech, but do you seriously wanna set up lighthouses and shit? VR is moving away from that kinda stuff. Everything's gonna be inside-out tracking like the Quest IMO.

My only worry on the Index is paying the crazy asking price today and having a much more convenient high end VR unit come out in a year.

Yea, but the quest requires a FB account

Save the money and put it in an index fund.
Edit- lol I misread that and thought it was $5000.
Still, save it for a rainy day.

Simpson cab has a defect with the second player from left. Buttons are placed where your hand on the joystick is over them.

It also requires you to pair with the Oculus app. They really tie a lot of shit together. They desperately want to make sure they know your phone and identity before you're allowed to play videogames.

I am just using an old throwaway facebook account for it, but it's an annoying setup that just screams at you from every angle that they are collecting everything about you that they can. But I guess my deeper point was that if you want some good PCVR, it might be worth waiting for the next lines of premium headsets that don't use the old overly complicated tracking setups because I don't think anyone is going to do that going forward.
