Thread: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 [OT] - "Lets get stuck in!" (Decent Internet Connection Recommended)
Official Thread
I am 2 hours in and enjoying it so far. It has the Xenoblade 493275 pop up tutorial windows within the first 2 hours which is really annoying, but other then that everything has been fun.

Ok, played over 9 hours. And the game just explained that "A"-character and it makes Resetera and Nintendo of America's localization even worse. Spoilers obviously:

So "A" is the empathic side of Alvis that was split from the machine side "Alpha". The latter is the pure core crystal that's basically a CPU, which was known. So why is "A" adressed as "they"? The game explains that the Trinity-processor was made of 3 CPU cores: Logos (Malos, male), Pneuma (Pyra/Mythra, female) and Ontos. The latter which is said to be neither male nor female, but in-between. And that's where both the game and the localization get dumb: For one, at no point is "A" described as non-binary which is what woke idiots are pushing for. If anything, "A" is an "it", a neutral being, a neutrum. "In-between man and woman" doesn't mean non-binary for a being that gives fuck all about gender identity. Which brings us to the second issue: HOW do ALL the people in this world know to adress "A" with "they" or in a neutral manner? Even if "A" is supposed to be neutrum, anybody seeing "it" would identify that person as a "she". Face, hair, body, thick thighs, voice, even the way she sits. Nobody would go out of his way to be careful about "A"'s gender. That the Western game presents it like that anyway means that the world of Xenoblade 3 is apparently some LGBT-utopia where assuming that any hot girl might be not a girl. It's the only assumptions we can make, because there is not a single scene where anybody is told by "A" how to adress her. And that breaks all immersion for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm finally enjoying the game, the exploration is great, of course. But everytime that character is in the spotlight, it just ruins the scene. Looks like a girl, talks like a girl, but somehow everybody in this world realizes that she's not a girl and avoid using pronouns. So. Fucking. Dumb. :/

I'm even more looking forward to comparing the Japanese version to the localization, because I cannot imagine that it's being done as badly as here. Really one of the worst localization choices ever and purely based on the localization team's ideology, not on what makes sense for the game. "A" is not non-binary. It is non-gender. Neutrum. And it doesn't care about what it's being adressed as.

Upload a video about this to your channel controversies like this would get a ton of views.

nah, i want to keep my channel free from that bs, not giving nintendo of america that win.

I think your missing a big opportunity you could potentially blow up talking about it If it's a big enough issue. I mean theres got to be others who share your opinion. Nintendo will stop if enough people get angry. They don't like bad PR.

Ugh. It's really ridiculous how everybody avoids adressing "A" with her FEMALE pronouns. Imagine living in a horrific post-apocalyptic world of permanent war and death, and the moment you see a new girl, you go be: "Hm, that girl might not identifiy as a girl. Better avoid using pronouns."

THESE PEOPLE GIVE NO FUCK ABOUT PRONOUNS, omg ... Shulk and Rex would slap anyone who brings up pronouns so hard ...

I'm not very far in the DLC yet, but I'm getting bored playing it. Super linear, and now they have slow walking scenes during dialog. Monolithsoft looks like they want to make a Sony game...

Glad you changed your avi back.

I finished the DLC and really enjoyed it. I think the gameplay worked better in the smaller expansion then the bigger game. I like that each character only had one class to customize. I wasn't a huge fan of the job system. The leveling curve wasn't as bad either. I did everything I came across and only ended up just slightly above level most of the time.

The collectopedia or whatever it's called is a nice addition. The exploration tied to developing your characters works really nice and had me exploring everything.

Rex is really overpowered. I focused on leveling him fully first and he cuts through everything like butter.

Everyone loved Torna, but I liked this one a bit more. Torna had great story and characters, but the community building thing really messed up the pacing. Glad they did not do that again here.

I really enjoyed this game after the first few hours. My only problem is how they handled the story and its repercussions for 1 and 2. I guess they answered what happened at the end of 3, but I guess I wanted a happier ending that didn't undo the happy endings of 1 and 2.

I feel like for this to be the end of Xenoblade they could have answered more questions.

Xenoblade 3 Official Artworks: Aionios Moments
Article:
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 post-launch development has pretty much wrapped up at this point, but it's not completely over just yet. Apart from an update today introducing amiibo support to the game, it seems a brand new art book has just been revealed.

Earlier before Kadokawa unveiled the 'Xenoblade 3 Official Artworks: Aionios Moments' art book, due out in Japan on 1st April 2024. It's one for collectors - featuring 448 A4-size pages filled with artwork from the base game as well as the Future Redeemed DLC.

It's also apparently packed with some dialogue from the game as well as special discussions between Monolith Soft developers and team members. Fans have even been invited (between now and 26th January 2024) to suggest topics the development team should talk about ahead of the book's release.

Here's another look at the stunning cover artwork by Masatsugu Saito featuring the game's protagonists. At the moment there's no mention of a local release, but if we hear anything, we'll be sure to let you know.
