The jump from RE4 to REmake 4 is what? I never made a case for remaking a game. Just stating a fact.

Surprised at how many people dont seem to care for this. While I agree that it wasn't the most necessary remake in the world, it looked fantastic and they made some really nice updates that added to the original experience but didnt change it. In terms of a ground up remake, I think it hits the perfect balance. This game hit especially hard since Calisto Protocol ended up being mid at best.

-having the ship make logical sense and being able to go back to previous areas was great
-the randomization of smoke/lighting effects when revisiting rooms mixed things up a bit
-making some of the previously useless weapons actually viable
-I'm glad Isaac talked in this one. It never made sense for him to be a mute in the original

This was probably the last hurrah for the series. If this is considered a flop then EA will probably never bring this back again.

I actually do still have my ps3 hooked up but both of my controllers are starting to act weird, which is keeping me from playing it much. Been trying to find replacements but there are so many frauds out there that its hard to determine what is a legit controller and what is some chinese knock off junk.

The retro fighters PS3 controller is a solid alternative, I got that last year, it has all the features unique to the DS3. Refurbished DS3 controllers are incredibly hit and miss.

Never heard of these, they look good! I've been looking to get a Dualshock 3 as my controller of choice for PSX/2/3 games. I kinda wish these didn't look so modern/generic though.... but that's probably asking for too much at this point.

Biggest issue is that L2/R2 is super sensitive, so easy to accidentally activate it.

The rumble is also absurd. It's like you have a power tool in your hands. I can't wear my wedding band while using the controller because the rumble vibrating on the ring just makes it that much louder. It's pretty comical, lol.

All the same, it's easily the best alternative that I'm aware of. If you manage to find something different that looks good, please share. I still play my PS3 on a somewhat regular basis. 🍻
