Thought this would be a good idea. Basically if there's a member from another forum you'd like to invite here but have no way of contacting them put there name forward here. Between us all I'm sure we can reach out to nearly everyone of value we miss from the good old days. Give them the chance to make the right decision!... also the forum with out a direct link is quite hard to find, so let's be helpful and assemble the team ❤

Do feel free to reach out to ppl. Just be aware that the site will be unavailable for a period from tomorrow with the server migration so a couple of days from now would be best once that is all done and dusted (the DNS migration to the ISPs tends to take a bit of time).

Hopefully, should all be done and dusted within 24 hours of going offline. Annoying I know, but the current hosting is sub-standard. The firm I originally lined up were good, but they got bought out by these other dudes right when we launched and they seem shockingly bad. We've had around 4-5 instances of the site going offline for extended periods and their response time is frankly unacceptable. The new hosting firm is well established, highly rated and a lot easier to chase up.

Yeah. It was like clockwork. Every Saturday. Except this last one was huge chunks of the whole weekend.

I don't know a ton about site hosting, but I know human nature. If people keep winding up at a dead link, they'll start to bounce off the site. Reliability and not irritating users is paramount for entertainment like this.

Also. It should be stated. Nothing up with the forums. These outages were all to do with the hosting. They seemed to have a litany of issues going on.

Anyway, a bit of a digression there. Back to listing your most missed.

Romulus in the same thread was busting out all sorts of good stuff and videos that I at first thought he was the OP.

I think he really, really wants to be a mod on Gaf. And will do and say anything to get there.

The problem though. that Yes Men never realize, is how useless Yes Men are. If I'm bringing on a mod, I don't want a Mini Me that agrees with 100% of what I say. I want a varied perspective that will push back on me if need be. I don't think he'll ever make it there, and he'll just be begging for El pussy crumbs forever.

How do websites generally get higher up the list on Google bud? Is it just based on traffic... or worse money 🤣. Would be handy if "D Pad forum" or something along those lines was on the first page of Google etc. Slight downside of "D Pad" been quite common use 😊.
 
I've reached out to Blackmage. If anyone has Night.Ninja on anything please let me know. He was banned for saying Reset Era was a better *games* forum lol.

Oh and if someone with an active neogaf account dosnt mind reaching out to Vier it would be super appreciated.

Nobody else. In fact, I think it's time to bar the gates, shutter the windows, and put up "trespassers will be shot" signs all around the perimeter. After, I'll put on the kettle for some hot cocoa. Doesn't that sound nice?

Reality

The idea is to grow the site to a sustainable level over the rest of the year. The ideal number is probably somewhere in the region of around 300 members - 400 members. We are a ways off yet, so I'd rather encourage growth personally.
 
I honestly would like to see Jon Neu. He was always great at riling up the NPCs like Nobody Important and African King. I'd heard he got banned at GAF so someone should invite him.

If people have the means to reach out to others elsewhere then go for it. It's important to understand that a great many ppl here aren't able.

I am not sure if you saw what this "white supremacy" was all about. It was complete nonsense.
Was nothing white supremacy at all, just Elf wanted to ban people.

Unfortunately I never really interacted with Jon Neu personally, and now that he's been banned I don't know how to contact him. Maybe someone here who knows him could invite him?

Oh, I know. I was merely playing the part of the old curmudgeon. I'd never seriously discourage growth/participation of the community. :)
