Thread: What game did you buy |OT| You might even play it

Just got Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.

I was gonna get it as a Christmas gift for my wife but it's on sale now for $40.

About to go surprise with her it via the Portal.

And directly returned Outcast.

Cutscenes run at 30fps with bad frame times and hitches. Traversal stutters and hitches. Yeah no, not acceptable for those visuals with flat lighting and overall junk.

Sad UE4 fuckery.

😭

Makes me so sad. I platinumed that game a few months back and absolutely loved it. Definitely had some technical hiccups on PS5 but nothing game breaking. Easily one of my personal GOTY contenders.

I picked up The Master Chief Collection because at £8.50, why the hell not.

Also, @mcz117chief gifted me a wonderful little title Five Hearts Under One Roof. Just the palate cleanser I need.

Anything for my man.

I snagged it too, $9.99 in NA.

Man, 9.99 for Five Hearts Under One Roof? That's a steal! Congrats!
Really though, get Five Hearts Under One Roof, it is so much fun

lol, just looked it up.

Sounds like a Tenchi Muyo simulator, or at least from what I remember from the OVA I watched decades ago.

I don't think it's on PSN, otherwise I probably would check it out.

Boooooooo

Yeah I just can't deal with that anymore. I expect a game to run well, my acceptance of any tech BS is very low and sadly, many UE4 games on PC are just fucked. Picked up a health thing for the first time, stutter. Like, no! That's not acceptable, fix you shit. Overall just not a fluid experience and it's not even the most advanced game out there.

I'm near the end of Halo CE.

Good grief, someone please tell me the series improves. I am so exhausted with fighting mobs upon mobs of enemies and in the same exact corridors. The gunplay is fun but holy smokes, this game is trash 75% of the time. It's not even a good campaign in 2001.

It always was an average shooter. But it was the first competent shooter with good controls on consoles, so people went nuts over it. I'm very critical in regards to the quality of the game, but many people absolutely love it, the world, the atmosphere, the gameplay.

I picked up Stellar Blade finally. I will look forward to playing this one. I will probably start on this as soon as I finish Death Stranding, but I won't rush DS.

I also picked up Metaphor, can't remember if I mentioned that in here.

F1 24 went on sale digitally so I grabbed that. I got this for the PS5 pro support but after trying it, I'm not mad. No regrets. It's really quite good fun to play. I hope I will not ignore it.

And something a little bit different for my usual posts in here. I have 4 games currently sitting in my PS digital basket. I haven't checked out yet, they have been sat there for a few days.

Cities: Skylines - remastered
PalWorld
System Shock remastered
And Hades

I'm thinking I may just go ahead with the last 2 games. If PalWorld and Cities are time sinks. I have a few time sink games I own that I would like to make time for one day in Mount and Blade 2 and Crusader Kings 3.

And I need to start differentiating between games that I simply want to own versus games that I actually want to play. I could see me playing SS and Hades.

I'm looking at F1 24 as well but on PC. I think I'll grab that one.

I've grabbed a heap of games during the sale, but this is the most important one.

Hard Time III (Steam)

Based on recent Steam statments regarding game licensing, hard pivoting to GoG except for cases where Steam has a friendliness to a ton of JRPGs, like Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Persona, Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Trails, Shin Megami Tensei, Ys, Romancing SaGa, Star Ocean, Octopath Traveler.

Even single entries like Bravely Default II, Triangle Strategy, Baten Kaitos I & II HD ect.

Or dormant ones like Valkyria Chronicles.

(GoG so far? only really has Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Trails and Ys as its major JRPG series. Ironic how all of them used to be way more niche and became pretty popular over time.)

Black Friday:

Steam
$12 - Guild Wars + Eye of the North
$9 - Rune Factory 4 Special

Good Old Games
$7 - Pathfinder Kingmaker: Imperial Edition
$6 - Kingdom Come: Deliverance
$5 - Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen
$4 - Batman: Arkham Asylum
$4 - Batman: Arkham City
$3 - Bastion
$3 - Bioshock 2/Remastered
$3 - Deus Ex Human Revolution: Directors Cut
$3 - Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
$2 - Psychonauts
$2 - Sid Meier's Pirates!
$2 - Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Saga
$1 - Deus Ex GOTY Edition

Switch
$24 - Persona 5 Royal (Physical)

@Bullet Club you've ruined me. I saw you bought Hard Time III and MDickie has also made Wrestling Empire and it's incredible. Reminds me of the old school N64 wrestling games like No Mercy or Wrestlemania 2000. Modded the hell out of it to have WWE, NJPW, AEW and others.

It's fun, the wrestling is snappy and things keep moving briskly with random events and vying for a contract with the big boys.

Except in this one you can murder other wrestlers and go to court 😂 top tier simulation type stuff.

Aw shit, here we go again...

The Thing Remastered
Rogue Flight (after seeing the thread here)
Path of Exile 2
Crash Bandicoot NSane Trilogy
Farenheit
Alien Isolation

The last 3 I have owned before but picked up the digital versions.

I tried Rogue Flight and like it so far. PoE2 very early impressions are good.

Behemoth on PSVR2. New game from Skydance Interactive, the developers of Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. They also developed Sorcery, the PS Move game on PS3. Different studio name but same people, studio changed names when Skydance Media bought them.

Behemoth seems like a mix of Souls/Shadow of the Colossus. Native 90fps and uses dynamic foveated rendering, should be a looker on PSVR2.

I'm just being a prick at this point.

Dariusburst Chronicles
Patapon Remastered
Nier Replicant
Nier Automata GOTY
Still Wakes the Deep
Nobody Wants to Die
Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edit
Cities Skylines Remastered

The only redeeming point I could make was that every title was on sale.

And that I have actually got stuck in and really enjoying one of the games.

Picked up some more sale games

Teardown
Hitman World of Assassination Deluxe
The Last Remnant Remastered
They are Billions

I still have over £200 store credit after Xmas gifts and redeeming PS Stars points. Successfully managing to avoid Monster Hunter and KCD2. 2 games I am interested in despite not enjoying previous entries.

I do have a strong eye on Civ7 tho, I have never played a Civ game. Was tempted for years to get 6, but decided against it because there was no PS5 version. PS4 only. Obviously that changes with the upcoming version.

The list is so long and shameful, I can't even share it. I bought a new Xbox specifically for/and preordered Alan wake 2. Still haven't even touched it 🫠
