Just got Death Stranding and Amnesia: The Bunker, both for 12 quid, thanks to this cool Fanatical bundle thingy.
Bought Immortals Fenyx Rising, and I'm instantly reminded why I hate Ubisoft. Why do I have to create a fucking Ubi account to play the game I bought? Fuck YOU
It's a good game, tho. One of the better ones from Ubi.
Just bought [REDACTED] because it launched and has very positive Steam reviews, was on my radar since the first reveal.
Fuck yeah. That's on my PS5 wishlist. Will pick this up from the app after posting this! How is it btw? I have a good feeling about this one.
I picked up a few physical games earlier today. Rise of the Ronin and Alone in the Dark. Was just waiting for these to hit a certain price point. Rise was £35, Alone £25
And also picked up Anno 1800 and that Prince of Persia game. 2 Ubisoft titles. Never saw that coming
I'm playing that V Rising game. I'll prob share an update after my next session with it. It's positive.
Picked up some new games in the PS Store sales.
A few games I had always wanted to try in Sine Mora EX and John Wick Hex.
And a few others that caught my eye. Super Woden GP 2, Plague Inc, Kill Knight, Dark Light & Cultish Simulator Anthology Edition.
And naturally played Street Fighter 6 for 3 hours after buying these games. Naturally.

Finally. Picked up Avatar.
Plus Age of Mythology Retold.

I have that game on my wishlist, thinking of giving it a shot when when 5090 drops, to go nuts on the visuals because it's one of the few games that you can really push to the max.
Looking forward to your impressions!
Give us your thoughts on both, when you can, please!
They're gonna be in a backlog for some time, but I did launch them to check them out.
Even took some screenshots in Avatar.

Game looks much better in action because every single piece of foliage is constantly moving. You can zoom in on the them and they seem to never run out of detail. Feels like a Teyon game (being super authentic to its universe first person shooter), but made at high budget. Gonna rewatch the movies at some point and jump in. They still have to finish second DLC for this.
As for Age of Mythology, something about the way they redid the artstyle seems garish to me. It will take time getting used to it. Menu have more graphics options than a DF would ask for. Various forms of image reconstruction, ray tracing and shit, but still looks like 2002 game ultimately.
I bought this for the princely sum of £2.78. It's fun as hell.

It also gave me Mirror's Edge vibes. It has movement similar to it, first person parkour focus.

I bought Avatar yesterday, a key for an ok price.
It looks very good overall and also runs well on my PC. But man....
- intro is surprisingly long and non interactive
- pretty lame super heavy handed evil white man villain and evil colonizer story so far
Visually, im honestly disappointed. Maxed settings.
- the RT lighting reacts with a noticable delay to changes
- there's distracting noise on objects that are interactive
- image seems over sharpened with no setting to tone it down
- screen space reflections that destroy beautiful scenes because they suddenly disappear when you look down a bit
- volumetric lighting is chunky and pixelated
I'll wait for the 5090 and throw the unobtanium settings at the game, will then play it.
Other than that, it has nice skin textures, beautiful and dense vegetation, very good shadow quality. Will play more of if when I have more compute power at hand.
Yeah, that sounds like Avatar.
Super intrigued to see how the Unobtanium settings look, I know DF did some testing but I want to see it on future hardware!

Maxed settings, my 3080 definitely showed it's age once I got out of the base into the open. It's also a game that really benefits from high frame rates, looks and feels great when at 70+fps with some motion blur.
Looks a bit like that Hatred game but with a cartoony aesthetic. I still remember the hand wringing and wailing that game caused.![]()
The game seemingly came and went with little to no fanfare, which seems a shame as it appears to be a bit of a graphical showpiece.
I remember the uproar about that but I never played it. This is like GTA 1 dropped all the missions and your only objective is to cause so much carnage and stay alive 20 minutes until the authorities' only way to stop you is to nuke the city you're in. It's a fun time.

Finally bought DeathSprint 66. On sale on Steam right now. This is more fun than I thought, fucking difficult at first but online is really good.

I read Edge's coverage on it and it sounds like a really intriguing premise, I am just not sure it has the player base for longevity. Would very likely be more money wasted by myself if I did purchase it.
