Thread: Welcome to D-Pad | Introduce yourself
Site Update
Thanks! Chainsaw has been my nickname since I was a kid.

On the console side, I started gaming with the NES in 4th grade, upgraded to the SNES when that came out and didn't play much in college. After college, I had an Xbox, then an Xbox 360 and took a break for a while. Over the past few years, we got a Switch, then Xbox Series X and just recently a PS5 Pro.

On the PC side, I started with a 286-12, complete with 2400 baud modem for BBS text games. Eventually upgraded to 386, then 486. Modems to 14.4, then 28.8 etc. I remember playing DOOM shareware PvP when that first came out. Amazing, changed everything. Haven't really been into PCs in a long time though as I don't have time to do all the tech hobbyist-related stuff.

I also play some TTRPGs, enjoy old school D&D (1e) and have published a couple of modules for a 1e retroclone called Hyperborea.

Looking forward to chatting, though I will probably not be too vocal until I get the lay of the land.

Glad you found us chainsaw. Do have a perusal of the Site rules as well as the Site Overview in order to get a feel for the place in terms of features.

You can check the Gaming Forum Directory for quick access to the most popular gaming OTs, current giveaways and community events. The Calendar is very useful to check in on upcoming releases. In case you wonder what D-Pad Plus offers, here's an overview over the features.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. Welcome again and have a great time.

We're all very gay, no worries

Speak for yourself. I thought there was something odd about a guy hanging around in swamps and caves with two other men for months on end, all the while wearing nothing but a loincloth.

Not to mention all the master talk and swordplay:

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys, really enjoying this place so far

Seeing some refreshing takes in some of these threads

Well, we're less interested than other forums out there about about enforcing a consensus, still do have a perusal of the Site rules as well as the Site Overview in order to get a feel for the place in terms of features.

I see you are kinda gay. ;)

Welcome.

Oh, you found a old ass chevy diesel? Tear it out, put in a 350 small block.
Your blazer has a nice slant 6? awesome! Put in a 350 small block.
You are trying to survive the end of the world, and need the more realible unklillable engine ever? You will murder people for the basic Chevy 350 small block.

Edit: I love the 350 small block. I know some motors are actually better and can do more, I am a very simple man who loves how capable and durable that engine is. I grew up with many vehicles that had it, its what I know.

Slant Six engines are a Chrysler Product. Not General Motors.

Oh hi guys. Saw this site posted on a Kiwifarms thread and thought you guys seemed chill so now I'm here. I mostly play Nintendo games. I have this weird blessing / curse of genuinely enjoying games everyone hates like Pokemon Scarlet Violet and Genshin Impact.

Welcome Azure. There will hopefully be a lot more Nintendo games to play when the Switch 2 comes out sometime this year.
