YMMV. I enjoy Discord as much as any forum I use these days. There's nothing inherently wrong with it. Sometimes you want to have a real time conversation.

This is the kind of thread that makes me wish someone would compile a weekly "community highlights" threat with links to important, controversial or high reaction-score threads and post and write short summaries for each entry so that those of us who don't read every post in every thread can keep up with wtf is going on. My unused Discord account was just disabled, got an email on Monday and a finality reply on Wednesday, and will not be reinstated after I asked Discord's support as to why an account I have not used in over two months was deactivated. The tech support told me the reason for disabling was due to TOS violations of harassment or targeting individuals. They could not provide me with any specific details or any posts in question. I suspect it was due to a mass marking of a channel I had access to, but did not post anything I have not posted here or on NeoGaf in the past. I don't suspect that whatever transpired on Arc's Discord was part of this, but I want to say, OK.

We are the Dark Souls of gaming forums. The lore is deep, you need to pay a lot of attention and do hard work to discover it, understanding it requires teamwork, it's cryptic and very depressing.
I need to stop making these Dark Souls jokes. I already hate myself for it. But it fits in EVERYWHERE.

I've been a long time reader of gaf and era (never been a member though, signing up with a workplace or provider mail adress was just a no-go rule) and yet I miss so many references.
