RIP - SR3 and SR4 were fucking excellent games.
Never forget:
In other words, stay in your lane.Learn from the Barby movie and don't try to appeal to demographics that don't match your game/movie/TV show.
Saints row was never a game meant for gender neutral black college age women or gay men, why throw away your old fan base for these groups?
Barby made over a billion by appealing to self important girls, women and gay men, the same people that buy barbies, they didn't try to make it into a male focused action movie, and made lots of money as a result.
How it started:
"Let's make a game pandering to Fortnight broccoli boys and trannies!"
How it's going:
"They just kept playing Fortnight wtf"
I seem to be the only one who mostly fondly remembers Volition for the Red Faction games. :|
Saints Row 2 was their best game. Always wanted to play the original Saints Row through the PS3 port but it was cancelled along with Saints Row Undercover. And what they've done with the series from Saints Row IV onwards was a tragedy.
Saints Row and Red Faction will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you and excuse me im going to have some freckle bitches

Saints Row IV was excellent and improvement over 3. Things started to go wrong with Agents of Mayhem which was strangely dull and pointless game.
SR2 was great fun and had some surprisingly somber moments for a game where you can spray shit on people from a septic truck. 3 was a bit too silly but 4 said fuck it we're going full silly and it was greater for it.
I keep forgetting Agents of Mayhem was a thing. Saw that shit on clearance at Target for $2 once and still didn't buy it. Woof.
It's surprising they just didn't get sold off, in an age where any and everything seems to be sought after for exclusive content.
