Are people still using their VR sets often? Overall how do you think the market is doing? Thriving, staying largely the same or dying?

Always tempted with a Quest 3, but still seems a bit more of a novelty.

Itching to buy a VR headset again. It was so good when I owned one. Now that the kids don't need attention at nights anymore, I'm tempted to jump in again. Sadly, my dedicated full scale VR room became one of the kids rooms, and my gaming room isn't large enough for VR with real movement, which sucks.

PSVR has some great software, though the original PSVR itself had a lot of problems (tracking, resolution, cheap materials for the headset, etc.). I haven't tried the PSVR 2. I don't like using my PS 5 all that much, but PSVR 2 has my curiosity.

VR really is the only "next gen" thing in gaming. Nothing else has felt "next gen" for ages in this industry, not since we went full HD with the Xbox360/PS 3. Even that wasn't a massive step forward for how we experience games, it just made everything prettier.

If you can find a PSVR head set in good condition for a good price, I recommend it. You might have some frustrations with it like I did, but the experience of playing some of those games is worth it. Start with Astro Bot: Rescue Mission (one of the most fun platform games ever made), then some fun stuff like Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (sort of a light gun VR game), Moss (very cute and charming game), Pixel Ripped 1995 (a tribute to old school gaming that feels like the past blending with the future), and Just in Time Incorporated (funny game, though there's a little dig at Trump that may annoy some of you if you take it too seriously)

I've not been hitting the VR too hard lately. Just too tired after work, and it's summer so that's the worst time to play (sweat/heat).

But I get cravings for it. And also I'm running the AC these days so maybe it's time.

Just being looking into it and there is a Uncharted 4 VR mod, along with Cyberpunk. It is tempting, but I just don't want to get one and grow bored of it quickly.

Someone please talk me down from getting a Quest 3 😅 There's some good prices about right now and Asgards Wrath Bundle ends on the 16th.

I'll likely get one during Black Friday sales. Have been flirting with going back to VR for quite some time and have a large library of fun games from some years ago.

Or is there any better option? I'd use that for my wife in the living room for some fitness and chill apps, I'd connect it to my PC for gaming.

I passed in the end. VR is pretty much dead IMO. But if your happy with what's out now, there will be some good deals. I think Quest 3 is the sweet spot between price to features.

VR has some absolute classics that are timeless and offer endless fun for me. Like Tilt Brush, where I'll paint and craft whole worlds, or Beat Saber with mod support for thousands of songs, of Boxing VR with individual workouts to songs from my playlist. It'll be a device for some half and hour to an hour relaxation or workouts after work. Not really for classic gaming.

Psyched for the bump. I'm trying to get my hands on a Meta 3 before the end of the year. Flat gaming is so over lol

I'm torn. It's on sale now, and on the meta page, they give you Batman for free as well. For 549.99 €.

But Black Friday is coming up... Don't know if there'll be an even better deal? It's weird that there's a deal already.

I have a refurbished Meta Quest 3 128gb on the way for delivery tomorrow. I intend to use it primarily for PCVR, but we'll see on using the store itself.

If RE4 and RE8 are on PC for the official VR support, you guys need to try those when you get these headsets. Shame you can't try Grab Turismo 7. That shit is killer in VR.

Nothing yet... and I'll be giving the Batman code away to whovever likes this post first lol. Really should have grabbed when Asgard's Wrath bundle was a thing.

Headset, system, brand, etc. I know nothing about it. I own a PC and a PS5.

I'm interested in trying it.

From what I've seen, the Meta Quest 3 is the best. It can be used as a standalone system, no cables at all, with enough power to offer a good experience. Great controllers, very nice screen with perfect motion.

It can also be used in combination with a PC, wireless over WiFi (needs a high-end router for the best experience) or wired. And it can be used as a Mixed Reality headset, meaning you can "look through it", and it adding objects to the environment.

Apparently, Windows will come to the Quest shortly with all the functionality.

I have a CV1 but looking to get a Meta 3 fir crimbo. Setting up a spare room atm to make VR space since my kid to over my previous gaming/VR room.

Looking forward to getting back into it, hope the Meta 3 and peripherals drop in price for Black Friday.

There's already a price drop now to 549, bundled with the latest Batman game for free which is like 45€ here. Dunno if there'll be any even more special offer for BF.

What's the consensus on PSVR2? Almost in biting range with current sales.

Hardware wise, generally extremely positive impressions, it's a great headset. Especially paired with a PS5 Pro. Large library of fun games with legacy games from PSVR1. Depends on your expectations, VR isn't for large scale triple A games, for the most part, it's the smaller scale unique experiences.

Crazy amount of additional stuff you can buy for the Quest. Different straps, battery packs for more hours of gaming, some are in the strap, there's also one that goes on your shoulders for many hours of gaming, there's head cooling (lol), different lenses etc. You can dump a ton of money into that thing.

It's a must-own if you love Survival Horror and want to explore what indie developers are doing with VR. If you're planning on using it for PC, that's even better.

PSN PSVR2 library is limited and filled with plenty of trash but the gems make it all worth it. It's not a handful of games either, there's dozens of quality titles and most are under $40. Hell, most are under $30. I have about 100 games on PSVR2 and most of them have plenty of merit. I'd say 20 or so are legit must-play games if you're a videogame enthusiast.

I've read that it works on PC as well, but there were some issues and it wasn't as seamless as the Meta stuff. Did you try it on PC?

Bought a Quest 3 with 512gb
Bought the stupidly overpriced Elite Head strap with the battery
Bought Half-Life Alyx

Delivery next week Tuesday. Let's see how it'll feel to be back on the VR world.

I left VR around four years ago, do you guys have any recommendations for games that released in the last 4 years that I should try? Batman is included at the moment so I have that one.

Arkham Shadow finally got me wanting to try VR.

Was interested in RE4 and Alyx, but not enough to actually want a system.

All the accessories for the Quest are so expensive. Stupid Elite Strap with battery costs 149€. FFS.

Yeah I never bothered with their accessories on the quest 2 bc of that. They put out a headset that needed a $80 premium strap to be wearable for more than an hour without your forehead caving in.

And I just wasn't ready to support that lol. So it became my VR pirating platform.

The Elite Strap with battery is actually more comfortable and better balanced than the vanilla version. They try to make up for low quantities with overpriced accessories. Gotta make all the money back somehow.

Curious how long until they do a next version. Gotta be one with an OLED display tbh.

I'm probably going to get the lenses if it it's easy to pop in and out — sharing the headset with my woman…. so that or a shitton of contact lens lol.

Hoping the connection to PC/Steam is solid and easy. Had an Oculus Rift and never got it to work right. A lot of good looking games don't make it onto Meta, plus sales and such.
