Thread: Ubisoft Admits to Appeasing Internet Leftoids
Even if they wanted to sex the women down, they could at least use better stylistic choices to not make them ugly. I think this is the case where Ubisoft wants to make ugly women and is just using losers on social media to justify their decision.

Yeah it's ridiculous I've seen women in real life who are not dressed sexually and are not covered in makeup that look amazing it's like these people have no idea what an attractive woman looks like unless it looks ridiculous

Given the landwhales I've seen being the most ardent social activists (like shit, they make me look thin), there's probably an element of insecurity there. They're the bottom tier of attractiveness, so they want everything to fit their standards.

What I do find odd is you generally never see this of men. I look nothing like Doomguy, or Nathan Drake, yet men of all shapes and sizes love playing as them, myself included. Often, those are claimed to be "male power fantasies", which just makes me wonder what a so-called "female power fantasy" looks like to women.

This stupid on UBI's part. Giving in to the crazies will never be enough for them, they're going to keep finding things complain and make demands about.

I'm a straight woman and I still much prefer attractive female characters in my games. One of the things I liked about AC Odyssey was both the male and female characters were very attractive.

Characters don't need to look like the stupid anime characters in JRPGs to me that's worse than the uglified western characters. But I would like female characters that look more like Lara Croft or Cassandra than Ellie & Abby, Kate Diaz or that character in Control with the Jay Leno chin.

How many people banned from forums or just straight up ridiculed for saying this was a thing for years?

It's insane that an industry who's primary demographic is straight men (on console and PC at least) is absolutely terrified of making content aimed specifically at that audience.

There must be devs out there who have created a conventionally attractive female character only to find themselves being screeched at by the office fatties and uglies and then forced to make the character "more respected".

The point is to remove beauty in the name of equity. If there is a beautiful standard than not everyone will have an equal outcome. So if you nake everything ugly then the ugmos can fell they have a chance.

Ok the source is 4chan.

Also do you want to be aroused by video games all the time?

I guess you don't watch movies with ugly characters either? Boy you'd be missing out on some great ones.

There's always someone willing to come along and completely misrepresent the arguments being made, isn't there?

Nothing about the OP is related to always wanting to be "aroused" by videogames or refusing to play games that have ugly characters.

The point that is generally being made, and that people have been making for years, is that many (not all) western developers are actually going out of their way to make sure that the content is not seen as pandering to "the assumed straight white male audience".

You've simply built a strawman there to argue against. Not sure why you would do that?

Oh yea, the sensible opposite is a strawman, yes.

There's always someone willing to misinterpret a point of view if they have no valid counterargument.

Since most games have empowering elements to them (same as movies) and people play games as escapism, we want, and strive for excellence, we want to see excellence reflected in the characters we play/see. Hence why the majority of movies the main characters are extremely attractive.

Add to the rash of game devs lately not only creating average (or below average) looking women, but going as far as making the female characters less attractive than their human mocap counterparts.

i have two hands. i can play a 3rd person shooter with a main character as a woman with just one hand just fine.

but despite that i like beatiful women, good looking cars, good looking fighter jets. and i like seeing them moving while playing games.

Ubisoft did pull the "It's fictional so we can do what we want" in a game that pretends to focus on history.
Assassins Creed Odyssey Discovery Tour said:
"Here, both girls and boys are shown attending a class given by one of the rhetoricians of the era. The team made the choice to show both genders attending class within the context of the game world. Even though it is historically inaccurate, the team felt it was not necessary to prioritize historical sexism over inclusive gameplay."

See my related thoughts here:
Only the left works hard to deconstruct the concept of objective beauty.

Among many examples that I could list, let's start by looking at their push for body positivity regarding fat people.

Not sure how people can argue that Ubisoft isn't pushing intersectional woke bullshit when they plainly state they do in their games.

But male characters arent ugmos... hmm wonder why girls are uglified but dudes still have big muscles and six packs.... time to make master chief an XXXXL

It's not that all characters must be attractive.

The current situation is that pretty characters are marginalized and called sexist and everyone who likes them. The other problem is that straight-up mediocre female characters are propped up as beautiful.

Neither of those issues have anything to with needing overly sexy characters or smut or arousal.

Imagine liking a movie with a beautiful actress and being told that reflects badly on you.

This is pretty much all totally orchestrated. The division is on purpose.
Gamers are the dumbest. I can't believe this many people fall for this shit.

this is where it comes from, obviously it's not concrete this guy isn't a LARPer but he answers questions pretty much how you'd expect, it's hard to tell what someone would get out of simply pretending to do this and not saying wilder things
