Major disappointment as far as the trailer.

Not that it looked bad, but it was a bad trailer. Where were the funny lines? No idea what the story is supposed to be?

The Bowser stuff could have been shortened and then gotten more time with Mario/Luigi/Toad/Peach. Just felt like a distorted and disjointed trailer. Like the movie isn't even finished or something so they didn't have much to show.

LOL Someone's salty that people are more hyped for a Super Mario trailer than their gayass movie.

Cope and seethe harder Billy Boy. At least Mario is actually liked by people.

Do titles and thumbnails like those actually make a difference to views?

I rejected the voices whole heartedly and viscerally. It threw me off so much. But then again so did Chip and Dale's trailer and then I enjoyed it after @Stouffers convinced me to give it a shot.

People say it's just Pratt, but I disagree. It almost sounds like Pratt doing a subtle desaturated/toned-down version of Martinet's Mario voice.. at least with the cadence.

True story, the E3 they showed off the DS, I got to be around Charles Martinet during his DS booth presentation. Seemed like a nice guy.

I was at that E3! That was the first I broke into courtesy of a substitute teacher's badge (it pays to not be an asshole when there is a sub in high school).

Martinet routinely walks down the Nintendo queue every E3 signing and taking pictures with people. He's exactly how you would expect the voice of Mario to be.

For sure. Even if he wasn't I don't really care. Watching an entire movie of the Martinet voice would get annoying pretty quick.

I thought it was a good teaser. Curious to hear more of Luigi and Donkey Kong too who are getting their own spin-off movies.

Also, Charles Martinet is doing voices for cameos so we might see a scene with Wario and Waluigi.

Looks good. Will watch and then most likely barely remember it after, like the Sonic movie, but still.

Yeah, sadly.

It's not as sure fire a way to get clicks as a fit bird in a bikini, but it genuinely improves a channel's viewership.

It's a pity that's what's needed to get by. I get that these kind of videos are kinda appealing to the lowest common denominator and you just have to go with whatever dumb stuff works with the algorithm/trends. But I would have thought that once these channels established an audience they'd have the confidence in themselves and pride in what they produce to not have to rely on that kind of shit. But I guess you're having to accommodate really short attention spans so firey backgrounds and "X DESTROYS Y" titles are what deliver those sweet, sweet views.

I thought that looked pretty good. Visually super impressive. But the tone looked on point for what a modern SMB movie (targeting the family) would deliver.
Bowser was pretty based in the trailer.
