Evoking the classic top-down GTA games, The Precinct is a 1980s sandbox crime adventure where you play as rookie beat cop Nick Cordell. A world premiere trailer for the game debuted during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, revealing that the game is coming soon to PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Key Features
  • Explore a vibrant, living city by foot, squad car and helicopter
  • Respond to procedurally generated crimes ranging from parking violations to gang shootouts
  • Engage in intense vehicle chases through destructible environments
  • Go it alone or call in backup with an in-depth support system
  • Investigate the gangs who rule the city and the dark conspiracies keeping them in control
  • Day/night cycle with dynamic weather

That actually looks pretty sweet.

Full controller support as well. Double + Good.

Not interested in Copaganda. Will rather play the new Spider-Man game.
Yep. There's no way the woke hivemind will allow this game to exist. Glorifying pigs? As if!

Joking aside, I wish there were more game you get to play as police. I think there's a lot of potential for a good game if devs put the time and effort. But given that much of the industry is infected with SJW brainrot, I don't see that happening often.

I would love to see more 'GTA clones'. One where you can choose between playing as a cop or criminal, or playing as both and switching between the two different characters with unique gameplay opportunities would be pretty cool.

I'd be up for another Cop-style GTA tbh. Sleeping Dogs was great, La Noire, unfortunately, I just didn't gel with despite a couple of attempts to get into it. Which was a pity because I loved the period setting. Mayhap one day I'll give it another go and push through.

Albeit not 1st or 3rd person I have a fondness for 'This is The Police' which ACG covers here and gave a buy recommendation to.

This is bad-ass. I can't wait to play it! This is why I love Indie developers. They take the risk for taking on new completely different gameplay and new worlds. They aren't bound by continued sequels over and over just to maintain the status quo.
