Richmond Till We Die. Ted Lasso Season 3 premieres March 15 on Apple

In this third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the "wonder kid," has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate's contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.

I wanna watch this show, but I heard it started pandering to the woke crowd, anyone verify?

Edit: see Epic saying that it doesn't, will have to give it a watch

Show is terrible. It's fine if you like it, you don't have to argue about it with me. But the 2nd season is atrocious. Just offering a differing perspective.

The pacing on the first 2 episodes was just weird not surprised in E3 they had to flash forward through a bunch of games w/highlights.

The foreshadowing with Rupert continuing to say "I believe in you" and "believe in yourself" in that he's going to turn on Nathan just as quickly will somehow bring the reconciliation with Ted.

Just feels like it's missing some of it's previous magic

Well they are in the realm of contrived drama now with Keeley & Roy having inexplicably broken up, which is likely a gateway for Jamie & Keeley to somehow get back together at some point which will obviously cause tension given Roy is going to be training Jamie, at a guess . They also need to find something for Ted to do as he feels like he's spinning a bit after all it was already established his wife was seeing someone else last season.

i binged season 1 last week, loved it. Now I'm at season 2 episode 3 (Do the right thing") and it's the fucking worst. The club owner's god-niece is introduced and she's like a personified woke-ism. Everything she says is woke and she somehow gets her aunt to make all sort of woke decisions. On top of that, one of the players suddenly cares about a sponsor's wrongdoings, and of course there's a black female therapist since the start of the season.

Question to those who watched the entire series: Is that it now? Or does it get better again? :/

Edit:

"In your home country, what do you associate with Christmas?" - "Colonialism."

ROLLSEYES ...

I hated season 2 and I don't think I finished it, but I was only a few episodes away from the end. I felt that they ruined the show, but there are plenty of people here who feel otherwise.

One absolutely insulting "joke" that stood out was when Ted and the lady owner are going around door to door. A little girl who is black opens the door and yells to her parents that there are weird or scary white people at the door. And that was a joke that was supposed to be funny. And if you run that one in reverse, with a white kid yelling to his parents that there are weird or scary black people at the door, suddenly your show is canceled.

And the whole thing is just so girlboss female power centric all of a sudden. Then there's also a really annoying entire episode about Coach Beard's daily life. I couldn't even get through it, had to keep skipping ahead to find out if there was any actual content in it.

Boy is season 3 fucking awful. This was one of the best written and charming shows to now just be a complete dogshit wokefest that has almost NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHARACTER TED FUCKING LASSO

If the idea was to end this show at S3 and have other characters get their own spinoff it's going to fail before the finish line.

Just a list of really weird gripes
-Keely fucking her dyke boss, what?!
-Trent and Colin having a secret-gay bonding session
-Roy Kent has become a non factor on the show
-Rebecca fucked a dude on a boat after spending all of S2 building something with the Nigerian

At one point this was a story about a coach of a soccer club..... now there isn't even any soccer in the show

Haven't caught the latest episode, but I agree that the series seems to have lost its way. I thought it was a bit off when they had Roy & Keeley inexplicably break up at the beginning, and the telegraphing of Keeley and her Boss was like 'really?' like they just ran out of ideas and decided a trip to girlstown was in order.

im on season 2 episode 10 and this is so bad now:

- Rebecca, 50+ years old, started a relationship with a 21yo black guy
- Ted now has a clicheed dark past and breaks down
- the co-coach with the beard is written as such an "im not what i appear like"-character, makes me vomit
- WHY are they even having a funeral if the main attendants (family and closest friends) are laughing, having fun and mocking the church?! Just don't have a funeral. This is just some unsubtle "christianity sucks lol"
- Nora. THE worst character. Her small pig-eyes aside, everything about her is woke. Her unjustified self-confidence, her behavior amongst older people, everything. If my uncle started talking about his sex life in detail in front of me, I'd die.

S2 is so different from S1 that something must have happened. Did the director change? Or was it an intentional trap of Apple's to lure people in with something good, before they turn on the woke-switch? Oh man ...

It's weird that Zava just retired a couple episodes in when he's clearly still a world-class player. I know that it's not a 1:1 thing but he's obviously based on Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is still playing at 41 and still has an extremely high opinion of himself, and Zava seems to be a lot younger than him. I get that maybe they only wanted him around for a couple of episodes, primarily to give Jamie a boot up the arse to push himself, but they could have found a better reason for him to disappear. Have him get an injury that puts him out for the rest of the season and he only signed a one-season contract so that's him done with Richmond. That way you can still have the team adapt to no longer being able to rely on him.

Ted "discovering" Total Football in the last episode was kind of fun. I did think it was odd that they were treating basketball's triangle offence as some unique concept when there's been a similar concept in football tactics for decades so I liked Beard, who has always been more tactically aware, revealling that.

Everything about this season has been so utterly off-character for virtually everybody. Wasting as much time with Zava and now a non factor. There are so many skewed and segmented storylines all of which will never get wrapped or or makes sense. Show is a complete fucking mess
