I personally have no issue with 100 "retared" threads, I'm all for freedom and having fun. I just pointed out that a big amount of certain "having fun"-threads will create an image for this forum that probably many "politically correct" outsiders will condemn. Basically: If the goal is that D-Pad.Life eventually become a website where industry people, insiders and media people wanna join, then what I wrote applies. If the goal is to just have a fun place for talking games and shitposting and having fun, then whatever goes. Just showing the possible paths, lol.

@OutrageousFacts The problem with trying to attract industry people, insiders and media people is that they are the SJW types who are pushing all of heir ideas and views on everyone else. The only thing that will get those people on Dpad would be to turn into resetera. Those people are the problem with modern social media and entertainment/gaming industries. I don't want to have to deal with race quotas, pronouns and lgbt/trans posts all the time while trying to unwind on a forum.

The funny thing is the Donald website is dealing with the same thing at the moment, some talking about less politics and attracting normies and others fighting against it. Trying to promote conformity in banter/conversations will only lead to bad actors pushing the tone until all of their safe space checklists are marked off, which is a never ending spiral.

TLDR: Industry insiders are fine with Resetera and trying to win them over is not worth it.

The problem is, somehow this place feels like we are all mods now, and you can't really rebel against yourself.

My solution is simply not going full retard with my postings, yet I feel we are equally endangered by turning out to be a boring unfun place.

What brought most people (or at least me) back to GAF was the drama, shit posts, fun, strong characters, kind of free speech and also inside jokes that made you want to be part of that forum.

We need to find a way in between "lol, tranny wankers" and "no fun allowed".

I know OF from outside of GAF for a long time. For the last four or five years I have not seen anyone complain so excessively about political correctness, modern feminism and related. And no, I have never left GAF. I have been posting at GAF while I was not banned at Era and I continue to post here and on GAF, as well.

That's a lie. You came back to GAF when you were banned from Ree over some autistic nonsense. I remember you complaining about it. It doesn't matter and has no bearing on you being here so why lie about it?

If your friend is so anti-PC then why is he pushing to change the culture to attract hypothetical women for the sake of vagina? Why does it matter on an anonymous forum like this? The kind of women who would enjoy being pandered to aren't the kind we want here anyway.

Like I said, I'm absolutely not for turning this into Resetera 2.0.

Just now, 5 minutes ago, I quit a Telegram-group of "friends". Why? They kept calling me a nazi, because I was against "gender-correct language" and criticized extremist feminists that cleverly never gave themselves a distinctive name, but co-opted "feminism" as a term, so whenever you wanna criticize the lunatic, man-hating crazies, you're automatically attacking feminism as the principle of equality between men and women, which no sane person would disagree. Nonetheless, they kept calling me a nazi for not accepting their pov as the correct one. All the while I'm explaining how I'm super-left, always voting for left parties, and supporting left politics in 95% of all cases. Just not when it comes to identity politics.

That's just to show how I really don't want this place to become like that, where authoritarian absolutists demand 100% support or else you're a nazi. I'd rather have a hundred brap-threads with titles such as "Does all pussy taste like fish?" or "Is it gay to bang a girl from behind and give her a male nickname?" than a forum that labels everyone "nazi" who doesn't comply with "the correct opinion". Fuck that shit.

When I earlier said that I think a community with a healthy amount of female members is always better, that's just my opinion and experience. It doesn't mean that I demand bending ourselves to court them into registering. If the choice is between attracting certain users OR freely expressing ourselves, I will always side with the latter :)

I think I've worded myself pretty clearly. If possible, a community where female users aren't afraid to post would be desirable for me personally, but I wouldn't want it at the cost of freedom.
 
I hope there are no real girls on here, I would have to ask them to not talk to me cos my wife doesn't like me speaking to other women.

Last time she found out there was a girl on neogaf she took my switch away and reduced my allowed playstation by 30 min even though I did my chores that week.

Upon further reflection after I made my comment in the Arc penis thread the other day, this was actually the main point that made me turn around and go "Actually, fuck it."

You're absolutely right. We don't want industry people here. They're all SJW cunts.
