I love the weapon handling and the enemy reactions. Game is fire.

There was some drama from a Yahtzee review !?!?

Anyone know how to dig up deleted tweets?

I saw that old Tweet but didn't screencap or anything. Dev just said that the reviewer didn't understand what the game was about and didn't get the design goals at all, that it was frustrating to watch.

Yahtzee's shtick has been played out for years.

He has some of the most shallow understandings of the games, and his reviews have boiled down to him just looking for things to complain about for the sake of making snarky attacks.

@regawdless

Given the FEAR comparison,
does the game have a antagonist that has lots of gradual build up and hints of, who simply by appearing can escalate things from 0 to 1000 instantly like Alma?

It's more about the combat and enemy behaviours rather than an antagonist. Firefights are very "interactive" in the sense that clouds of smoke get kicked up, things get smashed or shattered, fire extinguishers which are shot send out foam and things explode. A lot.

Enemies will flank and attempt to outmanoeuvre you or flush you out with grenades. Not to mention the sound design which is phenomenal.

There's no slow-mo mechanic such as the one in FEAR, but there is a somewhat useless flashlight! (seriously, why does that thing have a cooldown timer)

All these games and FPS that make that FEAR comparison don't really seem to grasp that aside from FEARS incredible gunplay, it also had that skin crawling atmosphere as you realized you were being stalked by one of the most terrifying monsters in the history of gaming with Alma. You can't make something on par with FEAR only using one of its methods.

Story here is pretty light, with just enough sprinkled in via collectibles to intrigue you. Not really much in the way of horror, but it does have a good atmosphere thanks to how intense the gunfights are and how unforgiving it can be.

Like AB said, the game isn't a clone or spiritual successor to anything. It just takes certain aspects from different games as an inspiration, there isn't anything quite like it.

I think it strikes a great balance, with smart and dynamic AI behavior, tactical combat and an environment that reacts to the action,.causing carnage. Story wise, yeah not that much here and no iconic antagonist.

Looking forward to the update. Didn't get time to jump back into the game since like a week, but really want to play more.

I bought it finally. I'm totally addicted.

I'm also playing this on ROG Ally on high settings and some additional reflections turned on. This thing is just addictive to play.

Enjoy, it's such a bad ass game. Can't wait to jump back into the game when I'm back home from vacation and then the business trips.

I still haven't touched this, because I keep seeing the content updates and thinking I might as well wait until I can play the full thing. But I'm drawn to it more than most games in my library.

Huge patch dropped with many improvements. The game is evolving so much, I won't touch it anymore until it's finished. It'll be the GOAT, makes no sense to jump in now tbh.

Is there a projection on when this'll be complete?

Haven't played an fps in forever and wanna give this and Mullet Mad Jack a try.
