My 4690k is still holding on! Like I give a fuck, I was under requirement for Elden Ring.

I'm torn on the deluxe stuff, because I don't want to go in with an advantage (weapons, treasures) but I do think the costumes and extras will be fun. I guess it will come down to the price difference when cdkeys take pre-orders.

No it doesn't lol. It looks like Resident Evil 4(That's a good thing) with prettier graphics and different character designs.
It looks like a fresh take on same story rather than a glorified remaster like Last of Us part 1. This means it's not replacing the original but exists as a new experience.

A Capcom producer has claimed the company currently has no plans to remake cult classic Resident Evil instalment Code: Veronica.

Speaking to website Noisy Pixel, series producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said that there were no concrete plans to develop a Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, but didn't totally rule out the opportunity, stating that if the "opportunity comes, maybe."

Curious about what's next. RE4 style RE1 remake?
Considering the graphical and audio fidelity, the 2002 Resident Evil Remake looks far better than the original PSOne game; thus not needing to be remade. [This also applies to Resident Evil Ø]

The original Resident Evil Remake doesn't need a full 3-D remake, because the set camera angles are historically what started everything and playing that particular game in any other way would ruin the atmosphere, tension & nostalgia of it. The Resident Evil 2 Remake was able to get around this due to it not bring the originator of that gameplay style - but aside from a possible 4K upscale - the 2002 Resident Evil Remake should remain untouched.

True. I'd still like to see a re-imagining of the first one. Based on the original setting and using the general story beats, but completely remade with modern gameplay and taking many freedoms. Not a "faithful" remake.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is one of the most anticipated upcoming games, and while its March 24, 2023 release date might feel far away, preorders for the reimagined survival horror classic are already available. Better yet, PC players can secure their Resident Evil 4 preorder for just $51 (down from $60), or the deluxe edition for $59.49 (down from $70) over at Fanatical.

$43.59/$49.59 at Cd Keys.

one negative i just saw. this game has crafting system for ammo and herbs. this shit needs to die with a fire.

i'm so turned off by this shit in a resident evil game.

Same, not a fan when there's a definitive best way to craft and doing anything else is a waste, like in RE3

Why is it a negative? It's been there since the start of the series, and was in pretty much every game until RE4. Even then, there was a sort of crafting in RE4 with the combining of herbs, accessories and weapons, and even treasures to make them more valuable.

RE2 Remake is one of my favorite games. Seeing how the leads from that game are in charge of RE4 Remake, I'm pretty hyped.

More:

It's a good game but I can't help but think they ruined it a bit with Mr X. Made it too much like Resident Evil 3 IMO. Also the grey blacks weren't great, in the Police Station specifically.

Also argue the RE2 original did the AB and BA routes better, I could play the game 4 times on the original and see more fresh content while the remake works well only in game A and B path
