Thread: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC |OT| Loads of Fun
Which is what makes your commentary confusing, I have no idea where YOU went wrong.

I ran the 4GB patch, picked the exact files it told me to pick to apply it to... game won't start... look up FEAR error code 51, which is what I was getting, troubleshooting tips recc that I verfiy integrity of game files, I'm assuming doing so simply replaced the 4GB patch to the files because it's back to running like ass, but it turns on! Not sure what else there is to do!

edit - I'm not even trying to win a damn argument here, I would love to play FEAR at an acceptable framerate!

What version of the game do you have?

Horizon Zero Dawn???
No - Spiderman. Nixxes has a great track record so far. Not sure why you think this game will be horrible out the gate as far as performance is concerned. It will look and play better than the PS5 version. And I'd say right now that 70% of all PS5 owners crown this game as the best game this generation so far.

You skipped the step of unpacking the game using steamless.

If High fps is all you're after, download the directinput fps fix and just put it in the game path.

OMG I didn't even see that, that's so far down the page. I didn't think I needed steamless because I wasn't doing the LAA thing. I'll let you know if this fix works.

Because nearly all SONY PC ports have been bad, but you're right, I didn't hear much complaints about Spider-Man. As a PS5 owner since near launch I definitely wouldn't tell someone this was the best game of the gen so far, much prefer Demon's Souls remake and Returnal... even HFW tbh.

Not always, but it's been around for some years. Just map out your keyboard and mouse inputs to your controller and you're good to go.

You can even use your dualshock to emulate mouse input using the gyro.

Steam input is the BEST thing about steam imo.

I actually don't like the gyro stuff lol I'm using an Xbox pad for my PC they just seem to work more naturally with PC gaming than Sony pads in my experience. There's definite dead zones translating mouse movement to control sticks but I found if I just turned the sensitivity all the way down it's fine honestly still has better aiming than a lot of modern shooters playing it this way.

Try using Joystick mouse.

So to the people who played this. My wife loves the old Spyro games. I hadn't played Ratchet since the second one. I'm remembering it to be similar to spyro. Will my wife enjoy this game? Thanks.

I know this pain too well since Sony are also holding God of war, Uncharted legacy games hostage. Hell Bloodborne is probably in the same category.

Agreed. Sony has some really nice games and they will be at their best, graphically, on the PC.

Well, as long as they sort out the stuttering and optimise for varied hardware properly.

Also that's only if you're assuming money is no object and can afford a high end enough PC to max everything out. For 99.99% of players out there, 'best' really means 'best I can afford', and most still won't be getting PS5 level visuals.

GPU's particularly are terrible value for money these days, and you'd still be hard pressed to even build a PC as capable as a PS5 at it's price point.

As much as I'm seeing nearly zero reason to own a PS5 currently myself, if you're looking at the best bang for your buck, consoles are still an extremely tempting value proposition.

I'm so glad Nixxes is working on this. The requirements look reasonable and of course the "only possible with the power of PS5's SSD" was only marketing talk.

NICE Let's hope performance will be fine as well, without shader fuckery.

Wow! That's crazy that they added all of that stuff. I'll definitely be playing it on Day 1.

This is the kind of options you can only get with more powerful hardware than the consoles. It is what it is. We'll start to see this go on for the rest of the generation as the developers take advantage of the extra power of the PC GPUs.

Interesting. They say these numbers with ray tracing are with DLSS/FSR, but not what modes. Hope I'll come close to 60fps at 1440p with very high RT on my 3080. Let's see.

As much as I want to play it, I think I'll hold off for a bit longer. These games often get substantial updates and patches inside of 6-8 weeks after release, I'll wait for that most likely. Enough to play right now.

True but I'm one of those dudes that just has to have something so I can see it in my Steam Library even though I may not get to it yet. I have a weakness like that.

I was talking to a friend yesterday about Starfield and how I've been so excited about playing D4 that I don't want my experience to be ruined when SF comes out and I download that and tell myself "I just want to see the beginning".. that leads to totally forgetting about D4 - which I really love - going headlong into SF. That happens to me on a regular basis and it leaves me with several unfinished games.

These specs seem a little on the heavy side. One would assume the PS5 version falls somewhere between High and "Amazing" being that the game uses light RT reflections @1440.

If we can go by the last few ports, then the pc version will ironically the best version.

Mark Cerny that mother..FUCKER...LIED TO US.

This is looking like its gonna be a show piece of some awesome tech. I wont double dip at launch but might pick it up during a sale just to look at.

Only a Gaf fanatic would be dumb enough to believe that this couldn't be done on a PC.
