I don't like MJF walking out on his contract. I can understand his perspective, but IMO he signed that contract when he was a nobody and took the risk on AEW. I mean I can see how it would suck that no biceps Adam Cole comes in on a huge deal and gets a title match, Swerve/Andrade/Black/Lee they probably all get paid more too. And then you have Henry/Show who do nothing and probably have big money deals too. So I could see why he is pissed at his situation. But I don't agree with not honoring the contract. It reminds me a lot o Killer Kross who did the same thing with impact.

MJF was working at MLW and clearly didn't see himself as a huge star at the time so he took the money Cody offered him on that contract. Sure it sucks he took 5 years because he wanted security and now he is the biggest star in AEW not named Punk. And it sucks having to put over guys in the best feuds on the show and then having to watch title shots go to others. Now he will make Wardlow into a huge star and probably watch the guy zoom up the card while he will stay as the mid card heel who puts over the baby faces. Meanwhile Adam Cole with his tiny biceps is getting main events and going to win the OH (which should have gone to one of the 4 pillars).

So I can see where he is coming from, but I still don't agree with the tactic.

I have to wonder how TK will handle this going forward. Vince was always business. Warrior and Jarrett screwed him over yet he would always go back to the well. Even with Sasha who threw her tantrum he still brought her back. And I bet after she calms down he will bring her back again. TK I can see holding a grudge and just not handling this as business and seeing it as personal. And the same with the audience. AEW's audience is very smart, how do they react to MJF walking out on them? They love to boo the guy because they are in on it, but now will it become XPAC heat ? He isn't a heel playing a heel, he is actually a heel who held up their sweet sweet Tony for more money and threatened to go to the evil empire with the other Khan. Does he become persona non gratta?

Anyways reports are MJF never left on his plane, so things could have been worked out and the match is still on.

I agree, he should honor his contract, if that's what's going on. And I'm sure Tony has offered him an extension with a large pay rise if that's the case, but MJF probably wants the big WWE offer in 2 years plus more money now.

Yup I heard that Tony offered him a new contract, but I wonder what type of contract. On one hand I think if he wants more money take the contract. But then I think ok maybe he is only offering Swerve/Lee money, and not Cody money. We already saw that Tony cheaped out on Cody because he has a budget. So if TK offered another 5 year contract at 500K when MJF wants 1 million or something I can understand why he didn't take the offer.

anyways I figure this will all be water under the bridge after tonight. But you know its starting to show some cracks at AEW. First Cody walked out, now MJF almost walking out. Maybe its not all honkey dorey over there. Also lets see Tony put his money where his mouth is, will he release MJF if he wants to go or will he WWE him and let him sit in catering for 2 years ?

Imagine if MJF pulls a Shawn Micheals SummerSlam Hogan match LOL. With the super over the top selling.

Well this is a surprise. I would assume it's not a work as this wouldn't help ppv buys. I don't know what's going on backstage or demands being made but unless it's something stupid or outrageous, MJF is worth the money.

Also didn't Ultimate Warrior try something like this toward the end of his first run too?

Yup from my memory he held Vince up for 500K at SummerSlam.

Jarrett also did the same thing in the late 90's as well. (not sure about the $$ amount).

Is the "or what?" part cocaine?
You really gotta decide what you want though because you can either like TK's rich boy cocaine rant which quite frankly I find far more refreshing than what WWE has become which is constant corporate-speak to both their employees and customers.

WWE is always going to be the fakest game in town, you wouldn't catch the other Kahn telling the investors the financial claims are fucking bullshit even if they were. Once Vince dies WWE will be as corporate as IBM or Microsoft and that wont be for the betterment of the fans.

Vince used to be the final decision maker, if you don't see Stephanie getting bounced as a clear indicator of future things to come you're not paying attention.

aew is just tna 2.0
It's nowhere near as bad as TNA. The way Tony books can be a bit dodgy at times but he at least knows and loves wrestling, unlike Dixie. The people he brings in are good to very good, they're not the Nasty Boys, Val Venis, Orlando Jordan etc.

I'm mostly fine with Tony, it would just be nice if he brought someone like Gabe Sapolsky in to help with the booking.

I wanted Anna Jay to win the Title from Jade. She is a lot of fun to watch.
I had a very similar experience to that match, maybe I just haven't been paying attention to the dark order enough but that girl is smoking hot. The chemistry with jade wasn't very fluid though not many have been, please more Anny Jay and less Tay Conti

So they removed MJF from merch and the website. I think this a giant rib on the Sasha situation.

I was saying they should write MJF off after the Wardlow match. Give Wardlow a chance to breath on his own, and give the audience a little break from MJF since they just saw him in 2 big back to back high profile feuds. Have him return to a monster pop and then go all heel as only he could. I guess this is how they will write him off TV for a little while mocking the WWE for how they handle their frustrated talent.

This is the opportunity to see how TK can pivot when needing to. BD/Mox become the clear favorites but I'd like to see them put over Wardlow or one other person who is long overdue, can work a mic, and legit would get real heat.

It's time for Dustin Rhodes! He's been there from Day 1, veteran dude who's paid his dues upon dues. Him taking the strap would be as over as CM Punk with as much side-drama knowing Cody is getting ready to get his.

Tell me Dustin winning wouldn't be a fucking win for all parties, fans, veteran wrestlers alike. Who's going to say he hasn't paid his dues and can't work every angle of being a champion.

I assume whoever wins against Tanahashi at Forbidden Door will become interim champ. Danielson vs Tanahashi and then a Danielson/Punk feud would be pretty awesome.

Horrible timing. If TK knew about this before Sunday he is a horrible booker.

Ok so how does this interim champ work? Letsbsay Mox wins is he a 2 time champ? When Punk unifies the titles is he a 2 time champ? The days he is injured does that count as part of his reign if he isnt a 2 time champ?

And Mox bleh. We already saw his title reign and i am not interested in a second one. Wouldnt it make sense for Hangman to get the bye since he didnt get his rematch.

No Punk and probably no MJF becuase of this worked shoot storyline they have going on gonna leave a big hole for AEW.

I hope we dont get Mox v Tana with Mox winning the belt. Give me DB or something out of left field like Wardog or Lee or something. Heck I would take Kingston.

There's talk Punk fucked his leg when he leaped into the crowd on Dynamite.

Uhhhh I'm not really sure with an interim win. Maybe it would count as a disputed title reign, and then be upgraded to undisputed if he beat Punk or if Punk has to relinquish the title.

Punk would still only be a 1 time champ because he hasn't lost and is still champ.

I can see them having Tana win to set up the unification match.

I have a feeling that the deal was 2 title matches at FD and then two title matches at the DOME. So fo we see Punk Tana to unify the titles at WK? And then maybe the Page Okada rematch there as well.

I just dont care for Mox. Honestly it should be Page v DB. Or if they weren't doing this dumb work shoot angle perfect time to put the belt on MJF.

If TK has some quevos maybe he goes all in WARDOG.

Same. It feels like he tries too hard to be a wacky character. He hasn't been so bad in the BCC though.

MJF becomes interim champ. Beats Punk. Walks out of AEW with the title. Goes to other companies with the belt. Tony makes another interim title. Wardlow wins it. Chases MJF around the other companies and eventually wins it at some mixed company PPV that also features AEW.

I really think you either shock the world and put it on MJF and just let him pipebomb the crowed every week as the champion

Or you do what you suggest and go all out on Wardlow. Diesel/Nash was just an enforcer until he was the champion forever more.

You want Wardlow to be your jacked up power bomber, put him over all the way. Vince has plenty of jacked up guys right now but nobody doing the Sid/Nash type.

Either of those would be great but Tony isn't doing any of them. And it would fit in because they wouldn't be "real champs".

So for MJF the story could be him being a "fake" champ because he never actually beat Punk.

And if Wardlow falls flat on his face, well it was an interim belt not the real thing.

But we all know Mox is going to FD to face Tana and probably walking away with the title.

I think they are going to slow burn this MJF storyline. Its just starting with them removing him from the intros and website etc.. I don't see TK blowing that off to have MJF win the Battle Royal then the ME on Dynamite.

TBH Page was so underwhelming and presented as so unimportant that its not really a big deal if the champ is a midcard or even low card act. You could put the title on Evil Uno and it would have the same presence as we had with Page. What makes sense is to have it on a heel until Punk returns so he wins back his belt, that is unless Punk is out for like a year.
