They forgot gamers hate the sun

(New Boktai - when?!)

Tbh I think the patent is aimed at their next handheld console. Still, not too much direct sun light when playing games while taking a shit. It's not like people sit in the parks with their handhelds.

Since it didn't go up in US, then this must be because of inflation.

But it may not be long before prices go up in US too. Especially because of the tariffs!

Sony already raised the price once before, before tariffs. Think it was back in August of 2022. This system has been on the market going on 5 years and Sony still can't figure out how to bring the price down? Bullshit. Also, the price increase applies only to the digital PS5; the PS5 disc version is exempt as is the the disc drive add on. If it were tariff related, both of those things would've gone up too. My take? Europe gave it up good for Sony, let them stick it wherever they wanted and now there's no competition for Sony there so you get what you get. Also, the Switch 2 is coming in at like 400 euros, right? I think Sony doesn't like the prospect of the Switch 2 appearing to be the more high end system based on price, and let's face it… the Switch 2 is going to take a lot of people's money in Sonyland.

I'm glad I'm going Switch2/PC, because the PS6 will cost $800 minimum and will be full of broken shit, just like the Pro is. This is not the same company that put out the PS/PS2 unfortunately. That company is dead.

We gonna see all the grifters making endless youtube videos about these things?

Looks like Nintendo was just catching up with the rest of the industry

PS5 Blu-ray Disc can only hold up to 50G-100GB. But It still needs to install. Read speed is not fast enough to be able to process from disc.

Installs are why I also find debate for physical on PS/Xbox vs Switch is not comparable. Switch or all Nintendo systems up to now are the true physical collectors dream.

But now that games are getting too big due to graphics fidelity, everything needs to be 4K 4K 4K. Most of these games won't fit in carts and even Blu-ray Discs.

Unhappy to admit Digital future is almost here if not next Gen will be fully digital.

DVD/Blu-ray is a very dated medium for storage. We need the next generation of media storage to replace them with substantially more room, and substantially faster. The DVD has been around for 30 years. The CD-ROM, which is the same media format has been around for 43 years. Blu-ray is 20 years old next year. That disc is done.

Nintendo is the only company using carts. The Switch 2 carts are faster. But those carts are expensive, even more as size get bigger.

Unless there's a cheaper alternative with higher storage. Good bye physical!

Ya i haven't bought a physical game in over 5 years. I get some people love disc's but I just prefer digital. So much more convenient and I am not a collector and don't really care that in 15 years from.now I won't be able to play my copy of Gay Simulator 4: lesbian edition

I already refuse to pay $80 per year just to play on someone else's servers.

They better not raise that shit to $100 in the US.

Might be done with PS.

I reviewed my PSN subscription, it runs out in january 2026 and I'm not renewing for $80. I bought a bunch of PSN cards for around $25 back in the PS4 era that has carried me from 2013 until now, but if discounts aren't available and given the first party output of Playstation, might as well just drop it. There's no benefit.

They were basically a Concord support studio, not losing anything of value

Yeah that game looks like SHIT

Wonder if we will get any more first party PS releases on PC now? First time in a while I don't think any of scheduled. They are probably debating their aversion to re-releasing anything slightly old. Give us Bloodborne and Uncharted trilogy you cowards! :)

Without new games coming out, no new PC releases I guess.

Stellar Blade is incoming on Steam though.

Such a shame would love the older God of War Games, MGS4, Killzone, Uncharted, Bloodborne etc. Sony really needs to get out of the mind set that older games need to be remade. A very light remaster, with some resolution options at a discounted price is fine.
