Great OT @Grisham !

Love me some Pinball, own a ton of table in Zen Pinball FX on Playstation but don't own any console currently. Will see if I can purchase them piece by piece on Steam next year, because there's no transfer unfortunately.

Edit:
Wait, will FX3 get discontinued? Fucking lol and then it'll be exclusive on EGS. Ok, so I'm not buying tables on PC yet. Can imagine it being exclusive for a year and then come to steam. Will wait this one out.

When will Pinball FX arrive?
Pinball FX will be released for PC in Early Access via the Epic Games Store in March 2022, with a full launch on PC and consoles later in the summer of 2022.

What platforms will get Pinball FX?
Pinball FX will be available on the Epic Games Store for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

When can Steam players join?
Pinball FX will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC for one year, starting from the launch of Early Access in March 2022.

Is Pinball FX a free download for all players?
As always, Pinball FX will be a free download for all users. Yes, there will be free content, and we'll be announcing more about these details at a later date.

Are new tables launching for Pinball FX?
Yes! Some of them we've already revealed. Three Zen Original tables — Curse of the Mummy, Pinball Noir, and Sky Pirates: Treasures of the Clouds — will launch in Early Access on PC.

More tables are in production and will be revealed as we get closer to launch.

Are Williams tables still in production?
Yes! We are not done with Williams tables, and we are very excited that you enjoy our recreations. We have some big ones in store!

Can I import my previous tables from Pinball FX3 to Pinball FX?
For the new Pinball FX, nearly every table in our library is being remastered, updated and optimized in Unreal Engine to deliver the best pinball experience going forward. Unfortunately, this means that imports will not be available from previous games into the new Pinball FX platform.

Do I need to rebuy my tables in Pinball FX?
We know a lot of our players invested into previous pinball platforms, and some tables you may have been playing since 2007. We are working on several ways to make it easier and more economical to access legacy tables in Pinball FX. We'll have more information on this soon.

Are there licenses that will not transfer from Pinball FX3 to Pinball FX?
The majority of our licenses will transfer over to the new game. However, The Walking Dead Pinball and Portal Pinball will not be released into the new platform. They will still be available in Pinball FX3 though.

Will Pinball FX3 continue to be available once Pinball FX releases?
Pinball FX3 itself and its DLCs will be available for purchase up through and after Pinball FX releases. They will not be delisted or removed from the store, and we will keep you informed of any possible changes in the event they arise in the future.

Will there be new leaderboards?
Yes, Pinball FX will offer brand-new leaderboards to populate with your high scores.

Will cabinet support be available for Pinball FX?
We are planning to support the DIY community as we go forward. More details will arrive in the future.

Which physics will Pinball FX use?
Pinball FX tables will introduce Pro Physics to all tables that are released into the game.

I've somehow never played a real pinball table in my life. I've tried some videogame versions over the years and enjoyed them, but never the real thing.

I should get a VR pinball game.

Pinball FX VR is very cool, with stuff from the table theme flying around you. Getting the right position was a bit tricky, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Guess I'll seek out some alternatives to Zen, haven't played other pinball games tbh.
I think the games mentioned in the OP are a good start ( although some are no longer supported). It takes a bit of effort, but Visual Pinball X is also a good alternative.

The only way to play pinball is the way Billy Bob Thorton plays in Bad Santa

Cool story: I invited this one chick over in Kindergarten to play Sonic Pinball on the Sega Genesis. Idk why I did it, or why I wanted it to happen, but that's what I did. And when she got there we played Sonic Pinball and Sonic The Hedgehog 3

I would love to own real Pinball machines. The feeling, sound and charme are just amazing. But they are pretty fragile from what I've heard, you definitely need to mantain that stuff, repair shit, tingle with it. Which I really, really don't want to do.

Also, price and space.

That virtual machine is beautiful. I had no idea that they worked that well, especially haptically.

My main memories with pinball are two machines I played all the time when I was a kid - a Star Wars one and a Jurassic Park one. I got good enough with the Star Wars one that I played it for about an hour straight once. I wonder if anyone has "emulated" tables like those that would be playable on a machine like that. The places that had them are long gone, so I'm sure the machines are probably junked and gone forever :(

That machine would be awesome with a multicade beside it.

Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure is a complete recreation of the iconic 1993 table created by Williams, and is available as DLC for any player who owns Pinball FX3 on consoles and PC, or Williams Pinball on mobile.

As the 100th table available for PinballFX, and given that it's based on one of the most popular pinball tables of all time, the release should be a generally positive one for Zen Studios.

However, fans have been showing widespread displeasure at the DLC's price, which is $14.99 / £12.49 for the single table.

Most previous Pinball FX3 tables have come in packs of two or more tables. The Williams Pinball packs, which contain recreations of other classic Williams tables, generally cost $9.99 for three tables.

Prices for other bespoke tables created exclusively for Pinball FX3 vary, but generally also cost $9.99 for three tables. Packs containing tables themed on Marvel, Aliens, Jurassic Park and Universal movies cost the same.

The only DLC more expensive than the Indiana Jones table is the 'season' bundles, but these include many more tables than the single table offered in the $14.99 Indy DLC.

For example, Marvel Pinball Season 2, the most expensive DLC, costs double the Indiana Jones DLC at $29.99. It includes eight tables, however.

It could be argued that the costs involved in securing the licence for the Indiana Jones table are likely what has led to the increase in price this time. However, other licensed tables in the past have been notably cheaper.

A pack containing recreations of two other iconic Williams tables set around the Universal Monsters licence – Monster Bash and Creature From the Black Lagoon – only costs $9.99 for both tables.

Reaction to the Indiana Jones table's DLC trailer on YouTube has been largely negative, according to the trailer's comments.

"Amazing work as usual," said one fan, who then added: "I usually only buy tables in sales, but this one, I was ready to buy it at full price… But WTF with the price? Not that much! Come on!"

"€15 for one table? I'll wait for a steep discount," added another. "This was going to be a day one purchase. Was not expecting the price to be so high."

"You need to include 3-4 tables and make it a pack for this price," said a third. "Absurd. Your fans are ultra loyal. Many of us have been with Zen since Vita / PS3 gen.

"I have nearly every table, including ones whose licenses expired for newer consoles like South Park and Street Fighter. You know we want to support you, you know we WANT to get every table you make. But even a lot of us aren't biting on this one. Come back to reality."

Most of the frustration is enhanced by Zen Studios' announcement last year that when the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Pinball FX are released, players will need to re-buy their entire collection of tables.

"I was so excited for this table, but $21.50 AUD for one table is insane and you expect people to double dip on the new platform?" asked one commenter. "I understand licencing is expensive but this is ridiculous Zen."

"£12.49 is already too much for one table but the prospect of having to pay it again is beyond a step too far," added another.

I miss Farsight Studios having the Williams license. They were on a roll and were consistent in putting out tables.

I liked how they did the kickstarters to obtain the licenses for Terminator 2 and Addams Family.

For a while they were, but they abandoned TPA.

Damn that looks so good. I really need to re-buy all those tables on PC that I own on Playstation lol. Want to play Pinball again!

I'm kinda hesitant. I plan on (finally) buying an OLED this year and would want to play pinball on that TV. Could hook up my PC to it, but don't know if PC HDR = Console HDR. I keep hearing that there are issues.
It should be noted that the new Pinball FX will be released soon (on PC EGS exclusive for a year). New tables will be released there, older ones will be remastered with new features (like ray tracing). Pricing might be an issue. Perhaps, they will want to push the subscription option. Also, as @Cravis mentioned, no table table transfer between Pinball FX3 and Pinball FX (2022).
