This is so obviously a social contagion, a spreading mental illness being bourne through the Internet, and I really hope that one day we return to sanity, and this guy gets the actual physiological treatment he needs, before he either does something to himself that's irreversible, or the cocktail of drugs he's being fed give him serious medical conditions.

Yeah its definitely one of those things which I don't understand, and I dont want to be mean/disrespectful about it either. I'm in the same boat where I do believe it's a result of a poor mental state, and I wish Anthony/Emily the best.
This would be the first time where its someone who's content I actively enjoy transitioning. People seem to be celebrating when I cant help but feel sympathetic.
If one of my long-time IRL friends did something like this, I dont know how Id react. Like its a "I disagree, but i still want to be nice" sorta thing for me

Interesting. That's the problem with the Internet in general, it's far too over reactionary until the facts are known. Take everything seriously, but let investigations/law do its thing and don't make conclusions based on a case no one from the outside could possibly make a reasonable judgment on prior.

For smaller youtube channels, I can understand wanting to get some extra money for extra videos. LTT is a big channel and doesn't really get the same sympathy from me. If Linus wants to get more money, he needs to reduce expenses and streamline the videos so he can focus on the highest quality content.
If LTT needs even more money after all this time of being a big youtube channel, it is expecting too much from youtube content. They should probably start trying to get into Netflix/Prime documentaries or something similar. Or just invest in real estate for extra cash flow.

Majority shareholder? I hope Linus doesn't try and play the long game with Linus Media group. A lot of his content is very time appropriate and won't be as appreciated by future youtube viewers. While some like me might like to look up retro/older computer/tech videos, not many people will.
To be honest, the stagnation of computer and mobile hardware and the slowdown of gaming releases would make future content quite difficult to make. I don't envy anyone trying to make a living off of the current tech landscape.
