F-Zero GX is a lot more fun than I remember

Also, I was playing SM3DW + Bowser's Fury for the first time yesterday and it was with the new Switch 2 Pro Controller. You know what? That controller has the best movement of any Joysticks ever made for a controller. It's going to make the movement and controls feel like a dream for Super Mario Odyssey, which felt maxed out on the original Pro Controller just outstanding controls but NS2's Pro Controller has the most fluid and smooth feel to a controller I've ever experienced. When you do a circle motion with Mario to get him jumping and spinning in that 360 degree helicopter propeller move be does it just feels like the controller was made for 3D Mario games

I was told the NS2 Pro Controller was a step up from the first in a YouTube vid, but was skeptical. It's true. That controller is worth getting a NS2, it made SM3DW feel like it just came out for the NS2 practically. I'm super excited for all the games to start rolling out now; especially Donkey Kong Bananza and the next 3D Super Mario

The sticks are the most meaningful improvements, moreso even than the screen for me. A game changer to the point where I'm thinking of keeping my second pro controller because I feel bad relegating my wife to the og pro controller when I kick her ass in Mario kart.

Going to try the Pro 2 out tonight. Still super happy with the JC2s, which is a relief if mouse controls take off.

Alright team. Rather than buy breath of the wild again used on physical to replace my lost copy, I'm just going to buy another pair of game vouchers. That means I need to decide what to buy with the other voucher.

I've turned my old switch into a ship to sail the seven seas with, so I really can just download anything I have a cursory interest in playing/replaying. For instance I put tropic freeze on it because I played that for maybe an hour or so on the Wii U before bouncing off of it.

I'm looking for games that are part of the voucher program that would stand to benefit the most with the new hardware.

Things I'm leaning towards:
3d Mario and bowsers fury. I played it when it came out on the Wii U but it might be worth diving into again with my daughter since she never played it and I've never played bowsers fury.

Age of calamity. I played the demo today, seems like it is a fun game but would get old fast.

Anything else I'm missing out on? I've played all the major games on the voucher list with the exception of Pokémon games, which I haven't played a new game of in the past 15 years or so.

Is there a configuration tool for the new pro controller? What are the two new buttons used for? Mario kart world is not using them afaik.

Yeah it's in the controller menu. GL/GR mapping, and I *think* in the settings you can put that onto the quick menu

For some reason the Switch to NS2 transfer did not transfer my full Majora's Mask (NSO) save file

Save files from 10/2022 were there but they only had the first dungeon finished. In my playthrough I had finished the second dungeon as well. I'm going to have to figure this one out, maybe it has something to do with the Cloud

I played a bit on yuzu on the steam deck. Wasn't a fan of the combat and the fact that the combat is meaningless.

Agreed, it's not a great Paper Mario game. I like it more for its dialogue and humor plus it looks great. There was one level that was nicely done towards the end, wish the entirety of the game's levels were as good as that one. Combat literally was meaningless after like 40-50% of the game, possibly even a little bit earlier than that
