Deep dive into LM remake

A few shovelware family games
Better than Sony but not as good as Xbox

No Switch successor is a bummer though. Feels like the perfect time to start talking about it

The official NoA account is openly talking about the successor though. This can only mean that an official reveal is not too far off. I would be surprised if we don't at least have a teaser reveal by Christmas.

If they did add him to the roster and did him any justice at all, all of his opponents would be instantly KO'd and any attempts at sending him out of the arena would just result in him using instant transmission....

The exact same argument applies even more strongly to Kirby, and he doesn't get special treatment.

No MP4 and no Zelda remasters book it.
The ship for wind waker and TWP has sailed. They will be upscaled to 4k and released at 79.99 on Switch 2.
MP4 is a Switch 2 game. Or actually maybe a switch 3 and they will tease it again for another 7 years.
Mario Sonic at the Olympics is a guarantee. Each version will come with a baguette a hairy armpit and the game will wave the white flag and surrender before you boot it up.

The bigger question is which presentation will have the most games with a female lead and female voice over...

President Furukawa said they will announce it by March 31, 2025. Considering the focus is on their holiday lineup for Switch right now, and if it proves to be worthwhile, they might not talk about the Switch successor until January.

If I remember correctly, they did the big Switch presentation in January 2017 before releasing in March. They could try the same thing again this time. The only difference will be they won't have BOTW to launch with, so hopefully they have a good game or two being held back. Maybe a Mario Kart X launch title?

I have a feeling that Mario Kart X and the new 3D Mario will be Q3/Q4 2025 releases to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

Perhaps games like Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Decapolice, and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam end up coming to Switch successor as well, since they are slated to launch sometime in 2025. If we don't hear about Metroid Prime 4 tomorrow during the Direct then it's possible it is one of their big releases for next year.

A new 3D Kirby would be good too but they might have only recently begun work on it.

A new DKC would be great. Technically, the Switch has only had ports of DKC games and still needs one made of its own generation. I kind of doubt it happens and think a DKC game would be saved for the new console, but would be glad to see that the Switch gets one this year if that does end up being the case here

Of course they will. They always do.

Never understood why people get so hyped up for these presentations.

They'll spend a good chunk of time on Luigis Mansion 2. They'll spend a good chunk of time on a montage of already available or already announced games.

The best you can always hope for in a direct is a "launching later today" indie title that seems worth a try.

What are we waiting for that's a known but unannounced project and that would also be really big?

Because it's Nintendo, known for surprising and silly stuff. So basically it's just fun.

The most advanced Nintendo product I ever owned is/was a Gameboy Advance SP, and I'll never be able to play anything they show on that Direct, unless it's a small indie that comes out on PC, for sheer financial reasons - but I still watch the damn thing. Short of some kind of Valve presentation these Directs are the only solid source of positive entertainment in the industry nowadays.

A new dkc game would be great. It would be perfect if they can bring king k rool and the kremlins back.

Afaik the kremlins belong to Microsoft and with Ms going multi platform maybe there is a slight chance to bring them back to donkey Kong.

It'd be cool if they just dropped Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD and Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Remastered.

Given the limited lifespan remaining in this hardware, I don't see why those games shouldn't make the leap to more modern hardware, especially if they would be compatible with Switch 2.
