So I saw this in my recommended, gave it a click and it turned out to be UK rap from an underground artist. It's not something I'd listen to but thought I'd give it a chance and you know what? Together with the video, I found it quite powerful.

It's not as good as the original but it's not that bad. Her "rapping" is better than expected.

Bonus Neneh:

Tbh while I like the 80s aesthetic of the video, it's just not bringing anything new or doing anything better so really one has to wonder what the point is.

Agreed, although the youngsters wouldn't have heard the original so it does bring it to a new audience.

But does it? Old music does well on streaming and yes a decent percentage of the streamers are young people. Most of the people who heard it the first time have likely played it for their kids.

We'll see. Neneh's version has 6m listens on Spotify. If I remember I'll check back in a month to see how Sia's version is doing.

Arcade Fire have a new album out:

And just for fun they did a cover of the song that was #1 for my little boy's birthday.

The new Everything Everything album Raw Data Feel dropped and it's magnificent. I loved Man Alive, Arc and Get To Heaven (one of my all time favourite albums) but they went off the boil with A Fever Dream and Re-Animator as they couldn't quite find their way with a change of focus to something more electronic. In Raw Data Feel they've regained the spiky sound that contrasted so well with Jonathan Higgs smooth vocal and seem to have found a palette of electronic sounds that fits better with their particular approach to guitar. Fabulous album. Get it.

Hmmm...it's OK. I'd rather just listen to TFF.

The rock cover in the 90s was good but really, you can't beat Tears For Fears.
