Total shipments and digital sales for Monster Hunter Rise have surpassed five million units worldwide, Capcom announced.

Monster Hunter Rise launched for Switch on March 26 worldwide and surpassed four million shipments and digital sales on March 29. A PC version is planned for release in early 2022.

In comparison, Monster Hunter: World shipped five million units in the same amount of time. At launch, Monster Hunter: World was available for PlayStation 4 worldwide, and for Xbox One in North America and Europe.

Happy for the game and I'm curious where its Japanese sales especially will land.

Personally, I think this will be my last MH-game. I'm 26 hours in and while it's fun, it also feels too much like a chore to me. Like, I "must" to this. That sounds like it's not fun at all, but that's not true. I think I just don't feel like fighting cpu-monsters only anymore, I need more story, characters and down-time around it. Basically Zelda, lol. Tbh I'd love an open-world MH with proper traversal, story and voiced npcs.

Anyway. My hope is that MHR reaches 5 million in Japan alone to 1up Portable 3rd. The West should manage at least 3 million, so a total of 8 million is my guess for MHR's total sales for now. With PC, it might very well go beyond 10 mio., which would be remarkable.
