Blizzard has been dead for a while. We should remember good blizzard not celebrate current blizzard.

I have that view about modern gaming as a whole.

"It's too expensive to do XYZ," and why is that? Politics, not sound business, did this. Politics ruin everything. No business leaders had the balls to go against the covid lies, none had the balls to break from the war propaganda, none have the balls to go against the "climate crisis" BS, none have the balls to go against the DEI madness...

'All these flavors this tech and you choose to be salty play it safe.' 😞

[ ]Starcraft Ghost
[ ]Starcraft 2 without excusing Kerrigan
[X] Starcraft Remaster
[ ]Overwatch TV/Movie/Cartoon Series
[ ]Overwatch RPG and Arkham Asylum's/City tier spin-offs
[ ]Warcraft IV continuing a mainline timeline divergent though incorporating some of better elements from WoW
[X]Diablo II: Resurrected
[ ]Diablo 1 Remake
[ ]Diablo IV as a single player focus game with offline mode instead of a GAAS service. IV with its world, settlements, IIs everything else and IIIs class switchup/free respec (I like experimenting without paying a increasing and or insane fee every single time.)

Ultimately Blizzard only ever made two of the games I would have recommanded over the years, both of them remasters/remakes. Wonder if they would have been in a far better position, game/franchise wise at least if they had. Also not ending the Warcraft Movie on a gigantic cliffhanger...

Potential Spinoffs if continued success:
Diablo Souls-Like
Diablo Zelda-like
Diablo Pillars of Eternity/Divinity Original Sin 2/Baldurs Gate 3 scale single player/co-op CRPG
Diablo Anno/Stronghold Citybuilder
Warcraft Diablo like ARPG
Warcraft Zelda-like
Warcraft Divinity Original Sin 2/Baldurs Gate 3 scale single player/co-op CRPG
Warcraft: Total War
Starcraft ARPG
Starcraft Spaceship game ala Homeworld/Sins of a Solar Empire/Battlefleet Gothic: Battlestar Galactica:
Deadlock
Starcraft: Total War

I still pray this one happens:

Just throw Wow's storyline in the garbage and pick up right where Warcraft 3 left off.

These two should also happen:
Warcraft Divinity Original Sin 2/Baldurs Gate 3 scale single player/co-op CRPG
Why not Warcraft Souls action game?

They had an amazing universe going before World of Warcraft just started throwing lore out the window.

All three, Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft I think have only seen a fraction of their potential, the problem is well, they are controlled by modern Blizzard and Microsoft.

If anyone would say they did they would be lying.

I would say the opposite. No one who actively plays WoW is surprised, at all. The last BlizzCon was pretty major, but there isn't going to be anything worth announcing for at least two years.

I think the 30% decline in Xbox sales YoY, which were in the shitter to begin with, probably points a bit more definitively to 'why'.

We know there's finally starting to be consequences behind the scenes for Xbox's continued failures, and the ABK purchase was an insane misstep, that was massively overcosted, and has already led to a huge number of layoffs.

I've been of a the mind that all the recent leaks and rumours of the all digital XSX, the 10th gen Xbox being not just in development, but releasing first next gen, and of an XS handheld coming, were deliberate moves from the more hopeful side of the internal MS division over the department, trying to drum up sales and excitement for the consoles future, but the quick one-two punch of this followed by the sales decline News makes me think that the 'why the fuck are we wasting our time and money with games?' side are winning.

Given Blizzard's less than stellar sales these past few years, I would be very worried about the studios long term survival in anything but name only.

Don't worry guys. With Microsoft's massive war chest, buying up these companies can only mean more games for us! Right?

I always love that when I see it. "they have so much money that they don't have to care about losing any money!"

Ummm right, I'm sure that mentality is how they got all that money to begin with! And being a publicly traded company doesnt matter does it? They can just throw money in the trash bc they have so much of it!

Bro.

Microsoft.
Could.
Literally.
Buy.
Nintendo.

So yeah, obviously Xbox will continue to dominate the gaming market.

Add in that Blizzard is now probably obligated to show stuff at the Xbox Summer event. Makes for some slim pickings on the new content side.

How long could it possibly take to hire some Indians to make some CG trailers of games that will never exist? MS could put on events every year!
