Just looked on Nintendo's own store page for the game and it doesn't even tell you the specifics...just "revamped graphics and sound" what does that mean? For 40 fucking bucks I'd expect a bit more detail in what they did.

Since you play Metroid Prime on your dolphin emulator, why don't you post some screenshots to compare with the trailer?
I've played the original Metroid Prime on GameCube and this remaster looks better.
Honestly, I still haven't seen a game that wowed me like when I first played Metroid Prime at a Wal-Mart demo kiosk when I was a kid. What an incredible experience with (even then) relatively simple effects adding crazy amounts of polish.
It's not what it could be. For some reason everything looks a little cartoony.
Never had a chance to play this and not really into emulation so will probably get this when they make it available physical.

I would hope so man. Is a resolution bump worth 40 bucks? They did so little for this that they couldn't even be bothered to list the changes on their store page.
You have the option to not buy it. Those of us who never played it are more likely the target audience.

Won't be playing it anytime soon as I have Dead Space, Hairy Poofter, and RE4 in the space of a few months, but I'll add it to the list for sure.

I hate resmasters. We used to get full blown remakes with graphics in line with the current gen. There were also QOL improvements, added mechanics, additional content etc. Now all we get is lazy ports with a resolution bump and some cleaned up textures. I blame Sony for all their remasters of PS2 games. Although, to be fair, at least they offered multiple games for the price of one.

Was actually going to buy this. I bounced off Metroid prime the first time and on the Wii. But then I saw how unimpressive this remake was. I'll give it a shot on my steam deck instead using dolphin.
I only played this a bit on Gamecube at a friend's house, so it will be my first time to properly play through it. Looking forward to it.

I really wanted this a couple years ago (when the rumors were already going wild). In 2023 I have better use of my time and money.
I would say "show us MP4".... but I have serious doubts on Retro's ability to create quality games these days. Though I am sure much of it too will be outsourced to 2nd tier developers like Keywords Studios like this remake.

Holy hell, the Switch version really does look worse. Less metallic effects, worse textures (replacing grating with solid plate), no stars. WTF are they smoking.
And the weird light constructs that denote Space Pirate tech are. . .strings of Christmas lights. LOL
It looks objectively better. You're blind and your mothers a whore.
It's got that cartoony filter that MP3 had. Looks too bright everywhere, and like everything has little beads of light on it. I guess Tallon IV is more detailed. . .except for the cracks from the Phazon meteor impact being gone. Which is kind of important in a game that is known for its proto-Souls careful visual storytelling.

The Wii is objectively the best way to play the Prime games.
I hate the Wii, but if I had to choose the Gamecube controller over the Waggles, I am going Waggles every time.
This is clearly a full remake. Sort of like Last of Us Part I, except Switch hardware is barely any better than Gamecube.

Always love it when they do a good "available later today" and this was probably one of the best yet.
Could have been a bit cheaper or would have been willing to pay more for all 3 games.
I get people moaning about it but for most people emulation isn't an option, don't own the hardware or don't own good enough hardware, and fishing out the Gamecube, Wii or Wii U isn't an option.
The only valid gripe for me is the price. Though obviously I've paid it anyway, haha.
