Look at this little shit.
back from an important business meeting no doubt!

This sweet girl is Flora. She's about 15 and my girlfriend has had her for 11 years. Unfortunately today we found out she has an inoperable tumor in her sinus cavity so we're going to spend the next week spoiling her before her last vet visit next week.

Poor girl. At least she's got a good number of years under her belt. :(

Yeah, she's a sweet girl. She is a rehome that my girlfriend got from a coworker who was moving outside of the US.

The picture is from a while ago.

You can see the effects of the tumor on her face now. She developed what we thought was an upper respiratory infection in December. It never really fully went away, despite a couple of rounds of different antibiotics but she was eating, drinking, and acting normal, aside from the snot. Then two weeks ago we noticed some facial swelling and called the vet again. She confirmed the worst. The tumor is invasive and pretty much inoperable.

My girlfriend wanted a bit more time with her to say goodbye so we settled on early next week for the procedure, and have some painkillers (essentially novocaine) if we think she needs them. Obviously, if things take a turn, we'll call the vet sooner.

Very sorry to hear that - it's always hard losing a loved one, be they human or animal. At least she'll be going out surrounded by people that love her, which is the best anybody can hope for, imo.

This is Fred. Not only is he the household bouncer, but we think he slings catnip through the hole in the garage as a side gig. He was an adopted cat as his owner left for college when he was a preteen in cat years. He grew up with a dog and was very confused as to his own identity at first. He'd growl at the door when anyone knocked and play fetch with his tennis ball. But after careful conversion therapy involving watching Garfield, he's slowly finding true joy as the cat he is. And getting fat as well. He still patrols the house like a dog though.

This is Ethel. She's super tiny. The vet almost thought she was a miniature breed but she isn't. She's literally that high class stuck up hoe from Highschool. She's my nine year old son's best friend and somehow climbs up his bunk bed every night to sleep at his feet. She's also the child of my own childhood cat, Elanor who I was forced to part with due to abruptly leaving home at an early age out of necessity. I had thought I'd lost her forever but it turned out that my mother, while visiting my fathers old home, found her and took her in. She just walked up to her out of the bushes. Then I get a call that she had kittens and I had to have one. I chose the one that looked just like her. It's wild, even though she bonded with my son, every time I get angry, sad, just emotional at all, especially if I raise my voice, she'll literally come running to me and will force cuddle with me while looking directly in my eyes until I calm down. Any other time and she doesn't care.

And finally this is Ollie. He's a rescue cat. We found him in my grandparents garage abandoned (or lost for whatever reason) by his mother well before he was weened. I was changing the faucet here and he was trying to help out.

He was bloated and full of worms at first, could barely move on his own, but we had him treated. Had to nurse him from a bottle every day for what felt like forever but a year later and he's super healthy and my best cat friend. He's always up in my biz chilling. Keeps me on my toes when he gets rowdy. He's also got a thing for my wife's shoe's...

Great workout partner though.

Our cats are traumatized.

They cry and behave very differently.

My wife and kids are on vacation since two weeks, but I have our Ukrainian friends here after they finally managed to escape.

So I'm here now with two different women, one kid and one baby.

The cats think I ditched my wife and kids and replaced them lol.

Just sayin'.

Man, I swear I have the weirdest and most self-entitled fucking animals. Rabbits, cats, ferrets, (and formally a hedgehog)... and they are all just a bunch of shitheads. All of them to the last. Assholes.
