Thread: Lords of the Fallen |OT| Soul Reaver
Official Thread
This thing is looking like a hot shitshow from the latest IGN footage, the animations looks not great, and just in general bits here and there look really "off". Weapon impacts seem terrible.

It's hilarious they're charging $80CND/$60USD for this thing, it SCREAMS budget, the first one was hilariously jank, this one looks in line with that despite some upgrades.

can a 3080 do this ? or it now can only run at 1080p ultra?

I noticed that the DLC for Lords of the Fallen is just extra optional stuff and not expansions or stuff like that which may be a little of reversing trend now. Remnant II Ultimate edition was still reasonably priced for being an ultimate edition, Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3 all shipped more or less complete with far more content then most games and Elden Ring still has more content then many games even without its upcoming expansion.

Might be fine getting the base game for Lords of the Fallen if its not just a outright filed off copy of Froms best of.

I'm still waiting for someone to make a Lightsoul- An extremely high quality soulslike game that is the optimistic hope and opposite of Froms usual "everyone is fucking dead or about to wish they were" settings. I think the closest would be Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past which preceded Demon Souls, and the closest recent one would have been ToTK except it does not match Elden Rings sheer enemy, weapon, armor, skill, spell and dungeon variety.

First non-developer hands on preview I've seen.

Looks like I'll be going with a lightweight / dodge build as shield blocks only block 40% of damage.

Yep, definitely looking forward to it. Glad it is getting good previews. I won't 1st day it, too many unfinished games atm, but will definitely get it a few months down the line.

I'm curious about the performance. The game seems to be pushing a good amount of modern effects, but I fully expect UE5 fuckery.

I'd love to play this game completely in coop. Would make a nice change of pace from the other Souls games. Game reminds me of Soul Reaver, with the parallel worlds.

I'm tempted.

EDIT: Wait a second... they took the "The" out of the name?

Publisher CI Games recently revealed some interesting information about Lords of the Fallen, which will be officially released in two days.. Among the details we even have the development time and how many people worked on it.

According to a post made on social media, (which was removed), Lords of the Fallen was developed over 4 years with around 400 employees in total.

Additionally, the game will introduce players to 13 different classes, four of which are mentioned as "secret", as well as 192 weapons and shields, 76 types of spells and 339 pieces of armor.

It is believed that the original publication was removed because this image reveals the exact number of bosses you will face during your game, and this small detail could be considered a spoiler, which are 30, as well as three unique endings.

So... just about as janky as the original? I did get some enjoyment out of that one, but I also had a lot more time to spend playing games.

Nah. It's certainly better. It's actually pretty nice. Been playing on PS5. I have some smaller gripes with it, but it's issues that are easily fixable via patches. You can tell these guys put in the work to make something nice. It's not perfect , but I think most souls fans will like it.
