Thread: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP launches September 25, 2024
Hype Thread
Doesn't seem like a worthy remaster, will just stick to playing it through RPCS3. At least the remaster seems to keep the game intact.

Seems low effort and shit but if it exposes this game to a new audience that grew up infested with woke shit, they're doing a good job.

I bought this game day 1 originally. Didn't like it and got bored very quickly. Only thing I remember is the upskirt achievement lol.

I think the original game had a lot of issues, but I still loved it. It's one of my favorite games from that generation of consoles. It was silly and stupid, but also charming, fun, and just...different. I loved the Ash Williams outfit too. I'm hoping for the best with this new version, but prepared for the worst. The most interesting part of this to me is that it's finally coming out on a Nintendo console. It's a remaster/remake of an older game, so I'm assuming (and hoping) that there won't be any performance issues on the Switch. The gameplay improvements sound pretty good as the game was always a bit rough around the edges in that department. I'm most concerned about the changes to the soundtrack though.

I was never big on the original or anything but this release really is a sad reminder of how we used to be able to take a game like this for granted.

The fact that there was initial concern this version could be altered or censored over content people used to laugh off further reminds one how deep into this pit we are.

Lollipop Chainsaw was the only game where I could see a cute, Buffy inspired cheerleader, dressed up as Ash Williams, wearing a talking head as an accessory, decapitate seven Deadit...sorry, ZOMBIES, with a one handed chainsaw, in the middle of a cartwheel, while the screen exploded into a rainbow of colors, with SPARKLE HUNTING!!! plastered on it, as my ears were graced with Viking metal music and:

"Alright!"
"Woooo!"
"Kickass!"

They just don't make games like that anymore.

I don't know if I'm being fair here but.... What exactly are the devs doing the whole time. It's barely any different.

Honestly, get five passionate modders in there for two months and you'll have all textures AI upscaled looking great, they'll increase res, draw distance, shadow resolution. It's Unreal Engine 3 I think, so yeah check some more boxes for visuals, get some plug ins, then do some optimization for another month and you're done. Three months of work.

No idea what they've been doing all this time.

Still remember all the fun stuff Jessica Nigri was doing back when she was actually a spokesmodel for Warner Bros Games and part of LC's marketing campaign, you won't see anything like this today:

I generally don't buy collector's editions. To me, it's throwing away money on useless extras and oversized, easily damaged boxes that I won't be able to find room for on my shelves. I have to say though, that figure is tempting:

I could totally see myself putting that for display somewhere. Still though, the price on this edition is ridiculous.

I was hoping for a really good remake but this seems pretty weak, I'm afraid this won't sell much and won't get much traction, which is a shame.

Further proof of how trash IGN is. This is from their review of the original game:

"Lollipop Chainsaw doesn't even attempt to differentiate itself from the genre"

Right, because there have been so many games that are just like Lollipop Chainsaw:rolleyes:

Just a heads up, none of the music from the original is in the game, they made a whole new "modern" soundtrack for it. For me that is a total deal breaker, so I'll just play the PS3 version.

Dunno, this remaster seems very, very lack luster.

Remasters are fine. I hate games that are stuck on a single platform, especially PS3 since that bitch isn't compatible with anything outside of the fan made PC emulator unlike the Xbox series, so I was cautiously looking forward to it, but considering that the game is almost a musical replacing the awesome soundtrack with some generic hotchpotch music is a fucking travesty. How expensive is licensing Chordettes from the 50s really?

Was thinking about picking it up at one point, but won't. They censored dialogue, removed a comment about being saved by nice tits.

Yep, they can fuck off. I still have the OG on 360. I'll just throw it in the Series X if I wanna play it.

Who was responsible for the port? I know that LRG is full of woke cunt trash, but they can't mess with IP like that; it had to be from the developer I would imagine.

When this originally released, my 360 was dead and I hadn't bought a ps3 yet. I finally bought a ps3 and grabbed this pre owned. I was considering grabbing this to finally give them a sale even though I still have my PS3 copy and would be playing that. But nah, can't give money to a needlessly broken port. The soundtrack, sure, licensing is a bitch sometimes. That can be overlooked. But this appears to be a cheap money grab and nothing else. If I ever meet suda I'll just slip the guy a $20 or some shit instead.

Never played the original. This game isnt getting any reviews, stupid boycott because of a sexy girl hero. I'm getting it.

For physical collectors the LRG release is clearly the only good option as the Playasia release won't have any patches or updates which this game obviously needs. I know some people were thinking of buying that one instead of the LRG release, but that would be foolish.

This is for the repop mode. You can play the game with all the original stuff intact. The repop mode also censored some gore, so it seems to generally just be a kiddie mode for a game that wasnt made for kids.

This is the worst remaster ever made. The game is worse in every single fucking way than the original. It plays worse. It runs worse. It looks worse. It's missing music. It's full of new bugs and glitches

FUCK THIS

Lollipop Chainsaw was a heavily flawed game that won you over on charm and originality. They have fixed NONE of the game's problems and have added a bunch of new ones.

It pisses me off that NOTHING has been improved in this game.

Lollipop Chainsaw has one of the worst first stages in the goddamn history of video games. Juliett is so ridiculously weak and underpowered for EVERYTHING the first stage throws at you. You'd think they'd do some rebalancing? Let her have an upgrade or combo unlocked right from the start? Nope, it's the same shit as always.
