Aren't these Lego games all pretty much the same thing?
The first six movies will probably have the same gameplay as the complete sage from ages ago. It is a nice fun game though, so this will be nice for those who missed out over a decade ago.

They've totally revamped the gameplay actually.
I like the improvements they made judging from the footage mainly making the combat more intuitive. The space combat definitely is better its really tempting for me to pick it up looks like a great game and I loved them as a kid still like them now nice little games to play occasionally. But my question is does it have local versus?

I've liked -- maybe not loved, but liked -- all the various LEGO games I've played over the years, including the PS3 LEGO Star Wars collection/pack, LEGO Worlds on PS4 (minecraft clone), LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Movie The Game, two of the DC LEGO games, one of the Marvel LEGO games... I've probably played one or two others.

I might pick this up. All of my kids enjoy these games as well as the LEGO toys.

I'd be concerned if they weren't interested in legos

I've liked Lego games too much over the years probably, I fell off them in the last 5 or so years due to it becoming pretty tired, even that simple joy needed an upgrade and this seems like it. It getting 83 average probably means I'll love it, I just can't get enough of exploring the worlds and unlocking characters and seeing all their animations, its extra cosy for me.

I've just bought CHORVS and Kirby though... and I was half way through Horizon 2 and already had Deathloop and Death Stranding DC for after those, not to mention lots of little PC games and some old school/classics I'm replaying like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Dead Space 2 🤦‍♂️ so buying this would be uber stupid. I think I'll finish Kirby and some other little PC games and then get it as a counter point to Horizon 2's slow paced open world gameplay.

I've finished episodes 1 and 4 so far and the difference in the quality between them is huge. Episode 1 has very short missions, they don't have split paths, the cut-scenes don't merge that well with the levels and some of the areas can look bland or ugly (like the battlefield where you're fighting the droid army). I wonder if different teams worked on them or they simply prioritized the original trilogy... I'll keep playing to find out. :)

Had a little go on this with the wife in co-op and didn't love it. It's a bit unclear what you're supposed to be doing sometimes. Possibly not helped by the camera being too close and split screen being side by side instead of one above the other.

Played it some more, but this time solo, as a break from Elden Ring and actually it's good. Was playing episode 4 and it actually does a decent job of capturing the charm of the movie, and the gameplay is good chilled fun. The voices are ropey in places with the substitute actors not really sounding right, but other than that it's good fun.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has smashed launch records for all previous Lego console games, its creators have claimed.

According to Warner Bros. Games, Skywalker Saga sold through some 3.2 million units globally in its first two weeks, and exceeded sales records across "across every platform, region, and edition" for Lego console games.

The figures represent the first indication of how well the game has performed globally. Previously, GfK data suggested that The Skywalker Saga recorded the biggest UK launch for a Lego game to date.

Based on physical sales alone, it beat the previous UK record holder, 2008's Lego Indiana Jones, by 8.4%, according to GfK data published on GamesIndustry.biz.

It sold more boxed copies at launch than Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring managed but it couldn't match 2022's fastest-selling title, Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The game also made a strong start on Steam, beating the previous record for concurrent players on any Lego game on the service by 1200%.

So I'm enjoying this one. It's a good partner to Elden Ring - something a bit less stressful to go alongside the more challenging fare, though tbh it's actually mechanically pretty solid in its own right. How's everyone else finding it? Visuals even on my Switch version are good, controls feel solid, and the levels are designed well with plenty of stuff to smash. It's not that serious but it's good honest fun. I'm really pleased to see it do so well - the gaming charts actually look pretty healthy right now, a pivot to quality that I think we should all welcome.

Are you playing on console?

I am/was loving it on PC but I have some technical issues that's putting me off playing it. It will just crash randomly during gameplay or when paused after a period of time and I had to force shutdown the PC, I was hoping it would get patched but its been a few weeks now and nothing to fix it.

Maybe try reinstalling it or something to make sure it's not an issue on my end.

I'm playing it in native 4K and it looks so glorious! Love how this game looks and the TAA solution combined with the sharpening really gives a beautifully clean IQ, had to disable chromatic aberration vignette effect via ini though which sucks, wish it was just in the menu.

I'm playing this one on Switch since the intent was to co-op with my wife, but the way they've done split screen makes it a bit shit sadly so I've ended up soloing it. Do other games crash like that or just this one? Have you tried this...?

Yeah I did but will try reinstalling completely today.

Nah no issues with others, I think its well documented it crashed on PC via steam forums and the like. It also has a bunch of soft lock states where you can goose your save game, I don't think that affects console though ofc so you should be safe in that regard.

Eesh that's some piss-poor quality control. Hope you get some decent patches soon. With modern APIs abstracting away from the hardware (and thus taking out much of the complexity of all the different types of hardware though it's not as varied as it once was [see GPUs - only 2 players now]) PC gaming really should be better than this.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is getting a new Galactic Edition on 1st November that'll include the base game and a total of 13 Character Packs.

To date, developer TT Games has graced The Skywalker Saga with seven DLC Character Packs - Solo, Rogue One, The Bad Batch, Trooper, The Mandalorian's first and second seasons, plus a Classic Character Pack - pushing the game's playable character roster well over the 400 mark.

Come the release of November's Galactic Edition, however, that line-up will be expanded further with characters including Cassian Andor, Captain Rex, and Reva. These will arrive as part of six new Character Packs, named as The Clone Wars, The Book of Boba Fett, Rebels, Summer Vacation, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor.

For those players that already own the The Skywalker Saga, new Character Packs included in the Galactic Edition will also be available separately. Each can either be purchased individually for $2.99 USD or as part of a new Character Collection 2 bundle, costing $14.99. For those yet to purchase any DLC at all, publisher Warner Bros. is also releasing a bundle combining Character Collections 1 & 2 for $24.99.

Expect these to release alongside The Skywalker Saga's Galactic Edition when it launches for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC on 1st November.

Been playing Lego Harry Potter with the GF and I forgot how fun they really can be co-op. Will def check this out.
How was that? My wife floated the idea of playing that, but I just started at her and said "You're a wizard, Harry." then the conversation died. Might actually give it consideration if it's fun.

I enjoy it.

It's broken into two games basically. 1-4* and 5-7.

Because of that's there is backtracking throughout the castle but most major plot points have their own unique areas.

You learn a lot of spells and by the 4th chapter you have a whole arsenal for puzzles.

For $20 it's a lot of fun.
