Thread: Jake Paul v. Iron Mike Tyson
Always down to see Mike back in the ring. He looked great against Roy Jones a few years ago, couldn't believe how agile he looked

This fight is going to be crooked as fuck but I wanna see Tyson knock this fool out. Not sure what the rules will be though since the last time he fought there was a rule against headshots.

What scares me is the possibility of Mike winning...... he's an old man and doesn't need to be doing this to his brain but if he needs the payday I get it. The fear though if he wins is creating some illusion he should continue to box at his age.

And let's say Jake Paul wins.....you just beat up a fucking old man, which means we're stuck with more shitty boxing matches where he doesn't face a qualified professional to compete against.

He's not the first "boxer" to build a resume against opponents he knows he can beat, nobody is watching for a fight, they're watching to see somebody hurt Jake Paul

People are going nuts over this footage saying Jake is done, Mike will kill him.

Bujt that's not fast and not impressive, dunno what people are seeing. Dude is fit and great for nealy 60yo. But look at him when he was young:

Two minute rounds is because Tyson is 57 with lungs willed with pot smoke. He wouldn't be able to do 3 minutes.

Paul "wins" easily. Good paycheck but he'll catch shit for beating an old man. Tyson will get back pats for trying.

People look at Tyson with rose tinted glasses and forget his last few fights were embarrassing. It's the same way people spoke about Colin Kaepernick. They conveniently forget that Colin's last three years were horrendous and his last year starting he went 2 and 14.

But I wouldn't think ANYTHING about this "fight" is legit. This is WWE levels of theatre.

This feels worthless to me. Suppose society would be better off if Mike wins. But I think he is a previous pos who seems to be out of his mind, but liked? The Pauls are just...ughhh

People watch these short clips of Tyson working out and go nuts. Every average fighter can look absolutely savage in short work out video clips. It basically doesn't mean anything.

They don't take into account that these training sessions took a toll on Mike and he had to recover, and that he has some health issues at nearly 60 after the life he lived.

Can Mike win? It's boxing, he has power, sure he can land a strong punch. But it's not likely and nobody should be fighting anymore at that age.

If Mike goes into even a bit of his old style. Jake is fucked. Depends how much of a lesson Mike wants to teach him.

I am hoping Jake is half assign it then gets a whooping, just to stop his cocky attitude.
He reminds me of every 80's/90's film Bully.

Worse is I bet he believes and loves his hype.

I get why people believe Paul will win. Age and all but this is a different fight for him. This is a world class boxer with world class defense and head movement. Yes he's slowed down considerably but your instincts are still there and power is usually the last thing to go. Considering his terrible showing against a mediocre at best Tommy Fury I actually fear for Paul's safety.

This isn't fighting Diaz or Woodley who are good to decent boxers for MMA. This is a fighter who won world titles and is one the greatest heavyweight's to have ever lived. Also, it's a guy with more than a few screws loose so there's no telling what he's capable of doing to the kid if it's clear right away Paul is overmatched? Maybe Tyson loses and age is just too much of a detriment to overcome but I really think people are underselling how much Tyson's experience and ability will overwhelm the pup. I just don't think this is a safe fight for a kid who's essentially a ballroom boxer.

Many things are true at the same time, and you raise some good points. That makes the fight interesting.

I've seen too many extremely high level fighters losing to mid opponents after hitting their decline. Talking about hitting their end 30s or early 40s. Speed and reflexes take a hit, reaction times in general. They just didn't have it anymore. Experience doesn't help much when you're always that one blink too slow to hit your opponent, one split second too slow to get out of trouble. Tyson is obviously way more experienced and has crazy power, that's always dangerous. He likely won't be able to match the stamina and explosiveness over the course of a whole fight though. And once you're more tired than your opponent, a large part of your skill advantage goes out of the window.

There's like a 96% chance Mike Tyson wins if at any point during the match something triggers him and he decides to breach his contract that he signed with Jake Paul under the table lol. In which case, he'd just win the 20 million or whatever he signed for. Every single match has been fake and gay as shit whenever this Disney kid steps in the ring
