Every strike is lethal in this blood-soaked sword fighting game. Slash, clash, parry, dodge and watch limbs fly. Choose your move carefully - the first cut is also the last.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the heroes were fighting for hegemony, and the flames were everywhere. In the game, players played the role of Zhao Yun, a well-known general of the Three Kingdoms, and interpreted the story of his youth.

Game Features:-
1. Original & classic plot, explore the cultural customs of the three kingdoms.
2. Rich character settings, tell the story of the famous generals of the three countries.
3. Real-time combo battle, a variety of skills to match.
4. Train a variety of war horses, simulate real riding battles.

Pretty fun Minecraft style game. The demo just came out. Spent all afternoon collecting aluminum nodes and feeding treats to the bright red chickens.

Sigh.

Was interested in Pacific Drive but nope, I'm out.

These are some of the car stickers. Fuck them, enough other games to play.

In the beginning I wasn't interested in this game, now things have changed. Looks beautiful. Like someone in the YouTube comments said it's a cross between hollow knight and okami.

Release date is July 18.

Oh FFS! I had this wish listed and was about to pull the trigger.

Now, if I see a "pro Christian" flag to go along with those, I will still buy it eventually.

Yeah no way that's in there tbh, would be very surprising. I was thinking about buying a key for 16.99 to not support the devs for that shit.

Some indie demos I played during the Steam next fest:
Meta-Ghost: The Breaking Show
Hades style gameplay but with multiple characters offering different play styles. The gameplay isn't quite as "tight" as Hades is but still overall pretty fun. I'm not sold on the longevity compared to a game like Hades, seemed a bit more shallow than I would have liked but by comparing it to Hades I'm giving it big shoes to fill.
Pacific Drive
I had been interested in this since the first trailer and was very keen to play, the demo was good and I really liked the repair/customisation/progression of the car but the characters seemed a bit annoying and I was surprised it wasn't one large world. The reviews since have talked about how it's all randomly generated individual zones with a very heavy focus on looting (I felt that even in the demo) and I've lost a lot of the interest I originally had.
Helskate
Tries to be Tony Hawk with combat as a roguelike. Concept is cool but I didn't really feel it was that good, felt quite frustrating to play and kind of unpolished. Perhaps if you were really into the idea or a big fan of skateboarding games then it might be up your alley.
Mortal Glory 2 Prologue
Turn based arena roguelike. It was alright but I didn't feel it did anything particularly well. Just overall rather mediocre.
Toy Shire
Tower defence with a kids toy/army men aesthetic. Another cool concept and this one had quite a bit of polish but just felt boring to play. You're limited on how you can build your defences, VERY annoying voice overs and some other weird stuff going on. I would rather play something like Plants vs Zombies or Pixeljunk Monsters for pure tower defence or Orcs Must Die for more action focused.
Stormgate
If you like SC2 gameplay (especially for the online element) then you'll probably like this but if you're like me and played SC2 for the campaign then I don't get the feeling this will have a similar level of story, the aesthetic and design are also more cartoonish. Could be one of the best RTS's to release for a while if you're into online though. I'm not sure if the full release will have mod support/custom levels but if it does then that could be good too.
Mullet Mad Jack
Very fast paced FPS with roguelike elements. Too much for me, I like fast paced shooters but this was just over the top (by design) It kind of felt like they were going for something like Hotline Miami but the demo didn't have any challenge or anything, it was just mindless running forward and shoot at everything in front of you. Maybe it will be better in the full game with more variance to the gameplay (the trailer looked like it had different mechanics) but I wasn't impressed with the demo. Only thing I liked was the cheesy aesthetic since it's quite standout.
Balatro
I tried this because I was a big fan of Inscryption and thought it was similar but I don't play/like poker so was sceptical. Turns out this was awesome and easily my favourite of every demo I tried. It's a roguelike deckbuilder based on poker but even if you've never played poker before you'll get the hang of this. Feels very satisfying to play, the demo alone has loads of options and mechanics. Only thing stopping me from buying the full version is that I have way too many other games to play already and I know I'll spend many hours on this.

Caves of Qud is getting a pretty substantial update soon. The gist:

We are working towards the final, major content update before 1.0 release. Much like the Creatures of the 7th Plague, this one will have a ton of new features, bug fixes and improvements.
The team has been working on a full UI rework complete with fully mouseable, gamepadable, gorgeous updates for every screen. Here are some mockup screenshots of the new UI:

Joppa is also getting a refresh! Everyone's favourite starting area is going to be as textured and lived-in as the rest of the world. More to show on this later!
Along with those major reworks, the update will also include:
  • Hundreds of new sound and visual effects
  • 40 new achievements
  • Several new narrative touches
  • Big bug fixes and performance improvements
You can expect this update to be released in Q2.
