"easy backdash" my ass

I swear, i spend more time in training trying to nail this down and i just can't grasp it. i'm a sloppy scrub - pad or stick; it doesnt matter. do it a few times and cant get it down to muscle memory

stupid game breaking crap

I'll get it one of these days - just venting

Reminds me how I tried to learn Izuna Drop in Dead or Alive. I skipped a school day because as I was on my way to the bus stop I just couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back home and spent the whole day training the damn thing. I did learn it in the end and now I can pull it off about 80% of the time.

I prefer square gates, but I also play charge characters, so there's that. Just practice your technique, every day. Muscle memory comes, but you just gotta stay committed. I had something similar to this, and I just practice and practice, in one day I was able to do it, and it just hit me like a bag of dicks.

You don't need it to win.

No, but it certainly helps with spacing - especially when you start punching above your weight class. You KBD and they whiff - game over.

I can do it sometimes at this point, on my fight pad... saved me a few times. People are ruthless. Especially since Asuka isn't exactly much of a punisher

It's waaay easier for me to pull of on stick with Asuka rather than Paul

The back sway shit does mess me up more than i'd care to admit with Paul

*sigh*

Why a korean backdash? And why not a normal backdash?

KBD is far quicker and more effective. You're essentially cancelling out the animation of interim between backdashes to create more distance between you and your opponent in less amount of time

I absolutely hate the movement in Tekken. There's so much match-up specific shit you have to learn in that game and than you have this to top it off.

A lot of it comes with just playing the game, you eventually learn the most common moves people use for the characters and how to adapt

KBD is really only necessary when playing against veterans in ranked online as a way to keep up with them... which i'm struggling to do

Trying to play fighting games in higher ranked sounds like hell unless the ping is under 30 or so.

Can't really be bothered to play much else these days

If your niche is getting the shit kicked out of you online by Koreans, and having to learn crazy mechanics, try out Starcraft 2. You'll run into the same hell, for the same reasons. :devilish:
