Swear Amazon US seem shit compared to the UK version, always something damaged and never the outer packaging. They sent me Kratos with a missing/ripped hanger missing.

Will this effect the price I can sell it for? I.e better off to return? Or am I over thinking it. From what I gather collectors keep these in boxes?

Ps hopefully my first and last thread on this 😅

It might, though if something is really like rare and hard to find it can still have value even if not in perfect condition. When you put stuff on ebay you have to list condition and show pictures. Whether or not you have the box is important to some buyers and you would indeed have to show that part of it is torn. I'd get a replacement or refund personally.

Yes, some action figure collectors keep them in boxes, not all of them though, and some people just buy two copies of everything so they can display one and keep the other in perfect condition. I've started doing that a bit myself, but only for affordable stuff. I have a super expensive Voltron set that I will NOT buy a second one of. I'm opening that sucker at some point as I paid too much for it to sit in a box in a closet. It's gonna get displayed somewhere in the house where it can look awesome and strike fear in the forces of evil.

Yes, that'll affect the resell value.

If you're buying as an investment, I'd try to return to Amazon for another one that isn't damaged.

Thanks guys. I listed it on Ebay but I'll probably return/exchange. What a carry on, amazon clearly knew what they were putting in the box, it hasn't occurred during shipping.

Action figures. lol nerd

*glances nervously at waifu figmas and my new RX-78-2 gunpla*

Amazon (US) is getting genuinely shit for shipping. They ship easily damaged items in this eco-friendly "bubblewrap"-esque bag that has a thin layer of styrofoam. You have to be really careful with them, almost buying items together strategically so you get enough stuff to warrant an actual box while also making sure nothing in the box can damage something else.

There are websites that specialize in selling action figures, they are much better about shipping and condition than Amazon. Retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, etc. don't care. Entertainment Earth and BigBadToyStore are great, or TFsource for Transformers. Some ebay sellers are great too, you just have to learn which ones are reliable.
