Despite Game Pass, Series X and S not surpassing the good old PS3. The rest is kinda expected.
Edit: don't know how representative this data is.

How did they work this out?
Just get an actual PS1 and PS2 along with PS3. Will be cheaper probably.I regret selling my PS3 and feel like buying one again. I wish I could find a functioning OG one that has the PS1 and PS2 hardware but here in my country it seems really hard to find.
Sony job did a piss poor job at coming up with a solution for playing PS3 games, what a shame, the option to Stream them over PS Now never even made it here.

Sony did it pretty well up to the initial PS3 model then they got burned by it and seem like they have a bad attitude towards that to this day. They handled the PS4 BC well but that's it.Xbox's handling of legacy software and peripherals really is admirable. Seems like theyre the only ones who give a damn between them, Sony, and Nintendo.
That might be what I'll end up doing (the PS2 can handle the PS1 games) but first I'll need the right CRT TV to set all that up, mine is not with me anymore. My emulator set up is pretty great for pretty much everything pre-PS3 but from what I gathered the PS3 emulator isn't there yet.Just get an actual PS1 and PS2 along with PS3. For sure, but that is a very stupid and shortsighted approach, not the type of mindset a company running a gaming platform should have.

If they don't value their own legacy why should we? That's how PC will eventually take over, ironically the best place to play PlayStation games conveniently is the PC at this point.
I find it fascinatingly stupid that they apparently are only interested in retro if they can include trophies, I hate trophies, I'm not in kindergarten anymore and I don't see the purpose in collecting participation starts.
I watch drastically less movies now than before streaming became a thing and I don't go to the movies anymore. I don't know the exact psychology of it but it seem they lost their value to me or something, I don't feel like the target audience for them anymore.Guess this confirms Gamepass really is the Netflix of gaming.
If you give people infinite choice, and no real investment into anything in particular, they end up paralysed by indecision and choosing nothing.
This is the only thing i can take away from this. It goes without saying that the PS3 isn't more popular than XSSX, so at most it's an interesting insight into the niche audience of that particular website and people that choose to use it for what I can only guess is logging backlog progress. That says more about the HLTB user base than about Xbox popularity.

Services like PS+ and Gamepass had an obvious negative impact in the value I see in games and I think that in a lot of ways they get in the way of me playing what I want (too much choice, apprehension that I might buy something that will be given away soon and regret it, etc). There was something special about stopping at a store in the way home, looking at physical games and picking something up to play.
Aye, on a serious note, learning not to buy shit you don't need is a great way to actually enjoy a hobby more than getting everything your heart desires, even if you can easily afford it.I watch drastically less movies now than before streaming became a thing and I don't go to the movies anymore. I'm already completely overwhelmed by choice when looking at my library + PS extra as well and I keep playing new games I buy.
In this case I'm not even buying them, they are being "given away", since I already had PS+ and MS keeps offering me Gamepass for 1$. I don't know how sharing Gamepass works but I share all my subscription services with someone who pays for Gamepass (and never uses it lmao).Aye, on a serious note, learning not to buy shit you don't need is a great way to actually enjoy a hobby more than getting everything your heart desires, even if you can easily afford it.
It's entirely counter intuitive, but you really can have too much of a good thing.
There are too many great games made already and too much trash being made. The path of becoming a retro gamer seems ever more inviting.Gun to my head: I could probably go the rest of my life with just my Vita and only emulating SNES and PS1 rpgs
I still have an OG 60 gig, but I never use it because I want to keep it pristine. I have two slims and another one that is non working. I went on a PS3 playing tear last year. It's a system that I feel time has been pretty kind to.I regret selling my PS3 and feel like buying one again. Never even heard of them. Just the amount of people playing fortnite/warzone on new consoles shits on this list.
Couldn't care less for a "poll" on a niche site. Couldn't even be bothered to check the site still lol
I would imagine GP members might not be well represented in this survey, because they probably flit around from game to game because they can. Also,I wonder if it would still track if a GP member completes a game even after it's no longer on GP?The site primarily serves as a reference tool if you're wondering how long it will take to play certain games to completion. Helps when deciding what to play/purchase next. As a result, they do skew towards a more retro enthusiast crowd. It's very niche, as you stated
I never had one back in the day but picked up an og one, hacked it and added a fat drive. It's beautiful.I regret selling my PS3 and feel like buying one again. I wish I could find a functioning OG one that has the PS1 and PS2 hardware but here in my country it seems really hard to find.

It's funny that the PS3 model seen as their biggest failure is actually way more valued than the other models now.I never had one back in the day but picked up an og one, hacked it and added a fat drive. It's beautiful.
It shows where passionate gamers are putting their time. LMAO @ the Xbots in here acting like they've never heard of How Long to Beat.
"Wh-wh-wh-what is it???"
I own just about every console there is and I've never heard of it.It shows where passionate gamers are putting their time. LMAO @ the Xbots in here acting like they've never heard of How Long to Beat.

I think gamepass users just don't care about this website. Probably don't care about finishing games either. Doesn't mean PS3 is more played.
