Thread: How often do you experience emotions?
I am usually happy and content but when I start reading about politics I get grumpy and depressed pretty quickly, that's why I try not to think about it most of the time. Also I have found that if I don't watch sitcoms or a TV show I like regularly I can get a bit anxious and depressed as well. I enjoy doing my set programming tasks during the day and finishing them makes me feel very fulfilled.

I can definitely relate to needing to watch certain shows to keep my mood light. I remember when I was younger, if I didn't watch the Simpsons at least every couple days I'd start getting depressed. It makes me wonder how the various forms of media I consume now are affecting my psyche, both positively and negatively. I think I'm not as sensitive as when I was younger, so I can watch some pretty bad stuff and not feel anything.

The internet is straight up poison in this regard. Having all this hyperbolic content available to you 24/7 from the palm of your hand isnt doing anyone any favors.

It's largely what is responsible for the growing animosity between both sides of the political fence here in the States, and continues to contribute to the rise of hate groups, gender dysphoria, socialists, mass shootings, etc

The internet breeds these monsters by feeding them more and more content per their personalized warped algorithms, and then creates even more sensationalist headlines based upon them. Its a dire cycle

Anything for the ad dollars, i guess

I've definitely noticed a change. After getting married I feel like I've let my guard down a bit. Even more so after having a child. Getting older probably plays a part too.

When I saw The Sound of Freedom the other day it made me sick to my stomach when the father realised his children had been kidnapped.
