Never got into WoW. Not my type of game. So it's TLOU for me.

Also, it has hilarious Joel reaction memes. They alone should convince you to vote for TLOU.

I voted WoW because I never played TLoU. Having said that, WoW has had a massive impact in gaming, so even if I voted pragmatically rather than emotionally, I still think WoW would get my vote.

I only played WoW for about 6 months or so, during its initial release.

Curious, why didn't you play it? Not owning a PlayStation or no interest in the game?
Not owning a PS.

I had a PS3 for a few months but I gave it away.

And ages ago I was given an original XBox but I played maybe half a dozen games on it I think.

Never been a console gamer. Not a fan of paying so much money for games.

I've played through the main game about 5 times and enjoyed it each run. Also Factions is a really good multiplayer game, that can be very intense. I've put quite a few hours into that and I don't normally touch multiplayer. Round the corner we have the definitive edition coming out as well.

Might not be as long as some games but this game is a Steak.

WoW was a literal game changer. Consequences would never be the same.

Agreed. I think TLOU was a phenomenal title from a technical perspective when it came out, but it's hard to understate how much WoW transformed the MMO scene and changed the genre paradigm. Albeit it didn't introduce the whole coloured items = rarity thing (IIRC Diablo did that) it certainly made it mainstream to the extent it's just baked into a countless number of games, as well as other aspects. The main thing I remember from my time with it was just how well done the in-game tutorial was. IIRC they kind of joked that you didn't need to read the manual in the manual, and tbh they were kind of right. It did a phenomenal job of handholding you, which is why in many ways I think it took off so well.

Yeah like no Warcraft 4 😭
If Blizzard were smart they would do Warcraft IV as a new fresh timeline directly from 3 while the gordian knot Wows storyline is could remain as is, have spinoff's diverging from the stories of the earlier various expansions instead of continuing what seems to a universally reviled storyline.

Also a Diablo like Warcraft ARPG would sell like hot cakes. A Diablo RTS ala Stronghold could have been interesting.

But alas.

Vanilla WoW sucked me in for two years. I was the guild master of the biggest raid guild on my server. It was fun being the first ones on the server to take down big bosses and creating strategies before videos flooded the internet. It's been 20ish(?) years now and I can still remember most of the people that were in my guild. One of the most unique experiences I've had in gaming. Although I would never do it again since it was very time consuming.

The Last of Us is a good game. It did not blow me away like it seemed to do for a lot of people.

Since WoW came out it's probably about 3yrs of the 17yrs that I didn't login.

I'm still in the Guild that the former GM threaten to sue for the name!

Pop quiz guess the name of the guild!!

lmao voted for World of Warcraft thinking everyone will vote for TLOU.

That said WoW used to be peak MMO and it died together with the genre. I spent about 6 months in there and it truly felt like being in another world.

Ive always wanted to play WoW. I never did because my cousin got addicted sick. Sorta ruined his life. Had a video game addiction ever since. I just assumed it was like crack and stayed away.

WoW from me. Sure, it had a sub, but because of how much content was on offer and how much fun was to be had, I probably saved a ton of money in the long run by not buying/playing other games. Whereas nowadays, I'm easily spending waaaay more money per month on games that are either only getting played for a few hours or that are going in the backlog, likely never to be played. Lol

Edit: As for TLoU, yea, I enjoyed it, but it was definitely a 1-and-done sort of experience. Not to mention TLoU2 (which I haven't and won't play) has soured me on the first game, much like how Disney has made me not want to watch the original SW trilogy knowing what's to come.

I thought WoW was the height of MMOs when it released. I had played a handful prior, but not sucked me in more than a few months. WoW I spent ~2 years playing daily. The game just did everything well. And it was waaay more popular than say SW: Galaxies, so there were so many more people to play with. I would meet people IRL who played all the time. They lost me at Burning Crusade, but I was also working at EA at the time, so I was kinda burning out on playing games (cuz I had no free time). I went back after Wrath of the Litch King and only lasted 3 months. Too much had changed. The QoL changes kinda watered down the experience. Yes hopping on dungeon ques were way easier than hanging out in a main town trying to gather a group. But on the flip side you had noobs in your party that didnt even know where the dungeon was. So if they died (and they would) they couldnt get back from the graveyard cuz they had never even been to the zone. Also didnt like things like the Orc 'motor cycle' or the multi person mounts. If you cant ride your own mount or use a griffin, I dont want to play with you.

tl;dr World of WarCraft all day long!

Stopped playing TLOU halfway through. I don't know why.

Never played WoW.

WoW had such an impact and is still played by millions. So I voted for WoW
