REmake is better than REmake 2.

2 really starts to flag in the third act and is really poor compared to the original on the second character play through. Much like REmake 3, Capcom just seemed not to care much about the experience for those that actually complete the game or want to do multiple play throughs, and just made sure the early content was excellent, likely for reviewers and general impressions on social media.

REmake meanwhile is an absolute masterpiece from beginning to end that ramped up the content and refinements right up until the last moment, and is great on replays with the unlockables.

Both incredible games but I'll give the edge to RE1 since the mansion is maybe my favorite setting of any game I've played.

Re2 remake outside of amazing graphics and sound is arguably worse than the original if just slightly, in this case Simplifying the character swapping mechanic.

Re Remake is the 1st game with so much more added with the Crimson Heads, the Lisa character, and new areas

REmake was one of the rubrics for what a remake should be judged against for over a decade. It was phenomenal.

Comparing it to RE2 remake is like comparing the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32-R34) to a Nissan GTR. Not really the same thing at all. But a connoisseur knows which to pick.

I played both the original and remake. The only change I remember is having to burn corpses. Otherwise it's the same game, with different visuals.

I think DS version of RE is better than remake tbh

RE2 remake is a completely different game. Just the same story.

I want to vote for RE, because of it's sort of 'historical significance'. But I haven't actually played it. But i have played RE2, and I enjoyed it a lot. So my decision is made.

Some day I would like to try and get that 14000 step achievement.

Part of me recognizes REmake as the superior game but I also prefer RE96 over REmake. I also prefer RE2 over 2make but given the choice between REmake and 2make, I'd rather play 2make.

The only remake I prefer over the OG is 4make.

Naw, this is fine. I don't mind it, I was actually just quoting this one random 007 GoldenEye speedrunner who went on a rant one time a tiny bit just for fun. I have no problem with RNG. This contest is sushi left in the Sahara thanks to Hostile_18 though, there's no way to salvage it. It must be burned with kerosene like a Crimson Head

I preferred the setting in the first game. Plus the first had the unknown element to it as you started to learn what was happening in the mansion etc. REmake added content in a way which took a lot of care I thought. And when it released, you couldn't find a better looking game at the time.
