Too busy playing the game. Boom, roasted!
Do the voice chat on your phone ya nugget, I'll be playing a game too, just not Horizon 2 lol.
Really I just want to do impressions of "Breathy Aloy", which is Aloy 80% of the time.

How come? Just not setting up an interesting story or something? But god damn does the first 30-45 bit of the game kill your boner.
It just doesn't let you play the game. Ever 5 min you get cut scenes. Title card doesn't hit for a good 60-90 minutesHow come? Just not setting up an interesting story or something?
Or is it filled with..."education"
It's not bad or anything like that but, it's so gorgeous you just want to be let lose and explore. How come? Just not setting up an interesting story or something?

Like others said, the hand holding, the cut scenes and the fact that its just going from room to room in a set path. Also the way they catch you up on the story makes Aloy come off as a lame character. How come? Just not setting up an interesting story or something?

Ironically for a open world game the opening segment is very linear. It starts opening up once you reach the first settlement a few hours later.
I agree with what Digital Foundry said about this game not feeling like a checklist.
Yup, pulled a straight 9 hours the first night, stopping only to piss and shit post here. The side quests are much better this time around. I played six hours yesterday and can't wait to play more.
Can't wait for the Kotaku article about how gamergate created a mod for users who hate women. Can't wait for the PC version and the inevitable "shut up, Aloy"-mod.
I really didn't expect a 4-5 hour intro like an assassin's Creed game so I was completely underwhelmed until the first major story beats happen. Now that I am 5-6 hours deep, I can comfortably say this is a good game. Once it opened up an let me play at my pace and my style its been great. Aloy is very unlikable and. talks. like. this..... but always with a short of breath feel like she been running. And your dialogue choices pretty much all suck. But the NPC's dialogue is pretty decent. Also NPC character models and facial animations are excellent.
Still impressed with how dense and good looking the world is here. The water looks fantastic.
I thought the way the Forbidden West opensThat's the case in many open world games though. Either linear, or in highly confined spaces. Easier to establish the setting, the story and the main mechanics.
That's a bummer to hear; I haven't started it yet (making one last attempt at beating Returnal this weekend lol) I hate it when games are super chatty and restrictive though.Like others said, the hand holding, the cut scenes and the fact that its just going from room to room in a set path. All in all instead of making a grand entrance at the start of the ball, our girl fell down the stairs. But hey its a long night, she can recover.
Once it opens up (couple hours in) its a sweet experience. You just have to get there. I'm now in the second zone and have some more abilities. I am god awful at the combat, but strategy and a pouch full of a crafting material gets the job done well enough. Such a fun game. Gonna pause for a few hours and watch some MMA. But I am sure Ill probably boot it up again tonight. That's a bummer to hear; I haven't started it yet (making one last attempt at beating Returnal this weekend lol) I hate it when games are super chatty and restrictive though.
With that in mind. Aloy as a character is actually growing on me in this one. She has more personality, and shows more emotion as apposed to the stern wooden character she was in zero dawn. Thanks Guerrilla now I have a warrior princess in emo makeup fetish
