Thread: Games to chill, what is your favorite?
The best part of Uncharted 4 is the final act in the Pirate town. The ambiance and lore built via the environment was fantastic. It was like going into the movie Goonies for me and hit that nostalgia feels something fierce. The outside rock clambering section in the rain storm was a very well done set and captured all the creepiness and ancient horror of a Pirate island in digital form. It surpassed Assassins Creed: Black Flag for a brief moment with this setting.

Not forgetting the swim in what we are led to believe is some exotic location only to find out its in a river bed in the middle of a city. Such a good game, particularly how the characters experiences, mirror the priates story. Doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past, unless we learn from it.

And of course successfully subverting the players expectations of thinking all of these pirate skeletons are going to animate and you are going to have to fight off a supernatural zombie pirate army. Going through the tunnels with skeletons falling on you and explosions from traps...only to find out, it was merely just traps and skeletons, no magic, nothing otherworldly. It grounded the experience that I can't quite put into words, because it is an otherwise mundane section that uses a trope to fake out the veteran Uncharted audience.

They could have gone that way and it would have been fine, but the fact they took it a different direction when I was expecting something else impacted the experience in a clever way.

It definitely subverts expectations in a lot of ways. The overall happy ending was a out of left field surprise given the themes, narrative and marketing. I totally bought it when it looked like Elena had died, I was right there with Drake in that moment.

SnowRunner is also totally chill and awesome

Came in to post this.

I'll give another nod to Minecraft. Also, relatively easy games like Pokemon are pretty good for chilling without having to worry too much about decisions or whatnot.

You can try Teardown. It's pretty chill up until you have start doing your heist. Before that you explore the level, look for valuables and methodically destroy the map.
