Welcome to the 22nd vote in the 1st Round of the DPAD Movie Face/Off series! šŸ˜

In this competition, DPAD members vote through polls for their favourite movie out of a series of films selected, and the most popular one goes on to the next round. If a tie occurs, there is a one on one face/off specifically to determine the winner, and that winner moves on to the next round. You can change your vote if you want to before the 48 hour deadline, after which the results will be recorded and I'll post the winner/tied winners.

Here are the 6 movies to choose between this time:

Pretty brutal selection this time. I thought that at least Breaking the Waves would have been a mild romantic comedy, but it is a bit more serious as well.

So what are people's views of these movies? I haven't seen any of them but 28 days later looks like a British version of Omega Man.

It may not look it, but Eraserhead is actually lowkey hilarious in its own warped way

Still the best David Lynch movie by a mile

First part I kinda agree with. First time seeing it and the dinner with the parents was kind of hilarious, and the ending too if you put it that way. But man, Mulholland Drive is LEAGUES ahead of Eraserhead

28 Days is pozzed because it's filmed on a mobile phone. I don't like the ending too.
Departed for me.

It's to taste. Both great movies but Eraserhead is Lynch at his rawest imho. I hold it on the same plateau as OG Texas Chain Saw Massacre... which I also find oddly hilarious

Both movies are just like raw exposed nerves. They hit on this weird subconscious level

I think my sense of humor might just be warped

I blame you and @brap tbh

So would eraserhead be more Horror or Thriller you think?

28 Days Later. It was exactly what the zombie genre needed. When it released I was over the moon with it. As time has gone on much of its novelty has faded, but its excellence still shines through.

The Departed is also a good movie. But ultimately an inferior and overly "Hollywood" retelling of great story. If 28 Days Later wasnt in this one I would probably have voted for it.

Another Deadlock? That's unusual. If it wasn't Christmas week I'd do the 1v1s on the weekend but for now I'll set them up for Tuesday and Wednesday instead. Luckily The Phantom Menace is on track to sweep its round on the 23rd voting thread.
