Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Arkane Lyon have delayed Deathloop from its previously planned May 21 release date to September 14. It will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC when it launches.

This is the second major delay for the title, which was originally planned to launch in holiday 2020, before being delayed to Q2 2021, which was later confirmed as May 21.

We've made the decision to delay the launch of Deathloop to September 14, 2021.

We're committed to quality and preserving our team's ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane. We'll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylish, and mind-bending player experience.

We apologize for the extended wait and thank you all for your passion and excitement. It is the fuel that powers our creativity and our hard work. We can't wait to show you more Deathloop soon!

I don't know man if we now have a culture where games release when they're finished then Cyberpunk was a hero. Personally I love the game even and it's broken state so it's already a hero to me.
Same here. But I can see lots of games getting delayed out of fear and the reason is Cyberpunks reception man

Would be awesome if Cyberpunk was actually a turning point moment for the industry. I know I'm certainly sick of seeing so many games come out basically broken and needing a massive Day 1 patch.
I 100% agree. Although I had a GREAT time in the game, I still wish it released without any backfire

The whole "release and patch later" mentality has been going since like 07/08 which greatly killed my enthusiasm in gaming. Then around 12/13 it got really gross with "release and if it sells and it makes sense financially, patch it" becoming a thing. If CP2077 did in fact change this mentality, that's a huge win for us gamers.

Christ Sony is lucky there is such a demand for the console because this gen is really dragging its feet so far!

To be fair. CDP fucked up royally. Much love for the game but trying to ship a multiplatform title out on 9 skews in the middle of a global pandemic was absurd. Should have bit the bullet, pulled the plug on console with a heart felt Mea Culpa . Focused on getting the PC version up to snuff (which would have made it easier as no cert BS involved) and made porting a much more straight forward task down the road. As is, they destroyed their reputation pretty much overnight overnight and are going to struggle to rebuild peoples faith in them.

Still back on the subject. Yeah I'm expecting a lean year for releases because a lot more companies are going to be in the same boat and development is hard.
