Dark light is a Sci-fi Cyberpunk style survival action-platformer set in a post-apocalyptic world.
The apocalypse was here. Darkness had descended upon the world like a shroud, and the creatures of the night emerged from their dark corners. You were the last of the Dark Hunters, a band of elite human soldiers tasked with the impossible: to seal the Dark Void and save the world from certain doom. You had to equip yourself with the best weapons, battle your way through hordes of ferocious supernatural creatures, and collect their energy shards. Your journey would take you through mysterious and dangerous dark zones, and you would need to kill, gain strength, and become ever more powerful if you were to succeed. The fate of the world now depended on you.

This is a spontaneous and quickly done OT for the game. It was in Early Access for some years, V1.0 released Sept 2022. The devs are adding new things and are supporting the game.

It plays really well and the weapon animations are beautiful. It's not for everyone and some bosses and encounters can be messy, but I enjoy it a lot.

I feel like the game received barely any attention, sadly.

The game is like a dystopian SciFi RPG Metroidvania with Souls inspired combat, fun concept. It has a lot to offer, but it can also overwhelm you with the options and what's going on. I forgot how there's a parry button, which is how you defeat enemies with shields effectively. In contrast to Souls, it seems like you can't avoid all attacks and it's part of the combat to take damage. But you find a lot of health from defeated enemies, it's not a big issue for me.

I love the animations. Here's something they're working on (they turned pixelated mode on for this)

Another WIP weapon. Curious when they get released.

I can't stop playing the game, once you get into the flow, it's damn good. And simply gorgeous, some of the areas look incredible.

Check out the Great Sword. Damn do I love the animations in this game.

I played it more, found the different factions, attacked the assholes base. Having a great time with the game.

I'm enjoying it, too. Only played less than an hour yet, but I dig it. Need to understand better how things work, everything is a bit confusing still.

When you rest, everything (including loot) respawns, right? Also, this is how you save your game, no? Is there another way to save?

Gona spend more time with it soon as I finish Atomic Heart.

It's like the Souls games, where resting basically resets the world, enemies and gives you full health.

It saves all the time from what I've seen. But you carry the currency that's dropped by enemies, which you lose when you quit the game. You have to put the currency into the bank, which can be done at the teleportation gates or when you encounter that dude with his robot.

There are some cool systems and interesting stuff to find/unlock. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I wanna play this but I don't want to sit in front of a computer. Have to Google how to manage all this shit on the tv and chill my fat ass on the couch while playing this. And god knows when this is going to drop on the switch

Beat the final boss some days ago. Still have to beat the leader from the other faction, he's hard. Didn't find the Great Sword yes, bummer, don't know where to get it from.

Game is a ton of fun, enjoyed it a lot.

I talked to them and those shiny knights seemed like utter assholes, so I decided that I want to kill them all.

Went with the wolves, got some very cool abilities from the drone. You can use two drone abilities at the same time. There are ability trees for the drone and you can equip multiple, switching between them.

Can't seem to find it on Switch. Would buy. Reminds me a little of Out of this World or Flashback.

Is the Switch version incoming? I couldn't find it on the eshop.

They're planning on doing a Switch version. But first, the other consoles it seems.

Beat the leader of those asshole shiny knights, which enabled me to craft the Great Sword. Which is a totally bad ass weapon. But.... I already did everything else in the playthrough. Need to check if there's an NG+ option because it actually takes a lot of resources to fully upgrade it. Wouldn't mind doing another run and change factions.

Took me around 16h to do everything, with some farming and a lot of exploring, taking my time.

Still playing it in small bursts because the combat is so much fun, despite there not being anything to do anymore for me, sadly.

I'm done with the game, had a great time with it. Hope they'll release new content, want to play more tbh. But for now, nothing left to do for me.
