You are Vow and Mr Blobby is your partner, with you both being in District 20. It is easier to think of districts as teams, but then everyone is split into the larger 80s and 90s teams.

Tributes are just basically what the contestants are called in the Hunger Games simulation/movie series.

Also your empty backpack is basically just a random event, it might be good if you are into backpacks but it isn't as cool as explosives or gossip magazines for the long journey.

Aye, I think there's some behind the scenes calculations done based on the random events, making it more likely you'll survive if you're armed and/or able to live off the land, but it's still all RNG'd mayhem, and in the end only one contestant isleft standing.

Also @Vow some of us already have woodburning stoves and don't bother with any other form of heating most winters anyway. If you can make it here when the cities and suburbs freeze though, I'll let you warm up by the fire, before we drive you out the village at shotgun point.

It's just occurred to me this game might become 'real life simulator' soon, depending on how badly shit hits the fan come winter...
