Thinking about buying an OLED. I have a 49inch LG NanoCell 4k TV, which is generally pretty good. Low input lag, very bright and great colors. But the blacks are honestly bad and grey-ish, which sucks. It's pretty apparent and distracting in games & movies.

It's for my gaming room, where I don't have that much space, so it has to be smaller than 50inch. I'm looking at the LG OLED48C17LB, which is 48inch, 120hz and has all the goodies. Costs slightly above 1k currently, but I hope there'll be a good deal around black friday / cyber weeks / whatever.

I have the LG C9 55 inch and it's the best television I ever owned. You're in for a treat if this is your first OLED.

A good friend of mine has a 65 LG OLED and we watched multiple movies on it. Dark room, bordered picture, but the black is so deep that the borders disappear in the darkness so only the picture is visible. Damn impressive. That contrast blew my mind. Since then, I can't stop hating the blacks on my TV. That sounds wrong lol. My nanocell TV has the same great colors in bright scenes and isn't worse than an OLED. But once a scene gets dark, it falls apart.

1k is expensive for a small 48inch TV, so I'm waiting for a good enough deal.

Black Friday coming up, already many deals available. What are you cunts buying?

I bought another gaming mouse for 50% off, couldn't resist. Some great OLED TV deals out there, but I have to be a bit more careful with spending money towards the end of the year as some larger bills await me. So yeah, guess I'll push an OLED purchase into next year.

Bought 9 months of GPU so I'm set until April 2024. That's probably all I'm getting though.

Bought a bunch of Christmas presents for the kids. Barbies and other toys. And a school bag for the big one for next year.

This was all of my Black Friday shopping.

Spent far too much on a large Canada Goose parka. I live in the north of England now and just this past week had my first taste of what I consider to be a brutal winter. I was told this is not winter yet.

I have to buy a new ceramic hob because my wife broke it. A glass bottle fell on it. I'll go with the cheapest one on Amazon.

Oh and I bought a new CD player for my oldest daughter, because hers was very old and the laser was done. This is the new girl friendly CD player:

I'm gonna start off with a new pair of headphones that I've just ordered yesterday. The Argon MK3 from Modhouse.

Front_on_stand.jpg

They're based on the Fostex T50RP, and then highly modified by Ryan and the people from Modhouse. I ordered them based on the impressions from my favorite two audio YouTubers, DMS and Joshua Valour.
These headphones apparently have a great and huge soundstage, despite being closed backs. Also, a ton of bass while still having good detailed highs and nice vocals. It sounds like it's the perfects addition for my Focal Clear, which are rather natural, so great for music. While I plan to use the Argons for gaming, movies and some electronic music. I ordered them because they supposedly have a very unique sound signature that seems like a great contrast to my other pair of headphones.

They're always only available in limited quantity and sold out within hours.
Lead time is 14 weeks + shipping from the US to Germany, so it'll take a while.
Wow that's a SWEET purchase

I'm such an over-excited idiot. Got into video editing for my first Gaming OTs ever. Now I'm like.... there's DaVinci Resolve 18 and the free version is OK. But there are many great features I want to use, which are only available in the full version.

I want it badly because I love this stuff. Shit costs 299 bucks, which is totally stupid for some hobby video editing for stuff I only do for DPad.

Now I'm in full on self-convincing mode. God help me.

Bought myself a Jackery 500W solar generator.

SolarGenerator500_2_-min_1800x1800.jpg

Got a 15% discount (code is ENDURANCE, if anyone else is interested Jackery) so down from £787.99 to £693.44, with a 3 year warranty.

Given inflation, power problems and weather conditions, there's black and brown outs expected to become regular problems for the rest of the decade, I don't want to be caught out and end up having to dump a freezer full of spoilt food. Plus this will be great for camping trips, as well as charging power banks and electronics.

That's a smart choice. How much does the system weigh?

Mines 24lbs/10kg.

There's bigger and smaller ones, and the panels themselves are about 10lbs/4kg each, and can be stacked in line with as many additional units as you like to increase charge rates.

I might buy another panel next month depending on how a single one goes and ease of use

That's lighter than I thought, huh. Nice!

The march towards off grid independence continues with a Kelly Kettle. It's the same 1.6 litres capacity as my electric kettle, but whereas that's gone from 10p a boil last year to over 40p a go now, and a predicted £1 a time next year, this will use small sticks, sawdust, spare kindling, pine cones and timber offcuts from the garden, while doubling up as a stove and grill. Given how often I have a cup of tea, this should pay for itself in only a few months.

RRP: £81.30
Bought for: £70.80

Stainless Steel Kelly Kettle Basecamp with upgrades.

What have you recently purchased or have plans to purchase soon?

Picked up one of these. Been testing it out and setting it up for streaming.

I have an itch to buy something…. I have no idea what it will be though. I kind of want a new gpu but I still have several years left on my current one.

Maybe I will buy a new tv…. It's been on my list but I was waiting until we moved…. Maybe my enjoyment of House of Dragons will be the catalyst I need.

I bought myself a Silky Pocket Boy, which even I'm surprised isn't slang for another oriental rent boy, but is infact a fancy folding saw.

With the Kelly Kettle coming and this winter likely to see a lot of people suddenly looking for wood to burn, I've been using it on my evening walks to cut down and size smaller standing dead wood trees.

Sure, we're facing a potentially catastrophic collapse of western society, but I'll be buggered if I'm not having fun preparing to weather it.

My asshole has never been so clean.

  • Heated Seat with Temperature Control
  • EWATER+ auto-cleans the wand
  • Water PREMIST of bowl before each use

I got the C5, not the C2. I think the only difference is C5 has a remote instead of the side control panel. Way cheaper on Amazon.

Purchased this for our garden.

Old one had a leak because it was a cheap one my wife bought and only survived 6 months. This one is a bit more expensive but seems solid.

Exciting purchase, I know!

I actually need a new hose

Mine leaks and I've just sorta dealt with it

Maybe next year lol, it's nearly autumn

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro for me

Was more impressed with the Galaxy S3 Frontier I was gifted than I'd expected but the watch began to feel laggy and the battery was on its way out

Guess I'm a smart watch guy now

Samsung The Frame 32 inch TV.

Marks Electricals

RRP: £600, bought for £430 after sale, discount and cashback, and including a £260 free soundbar I dont need, that I will be flogging on ebay to make some extra money back.

It's only 1080p, but it has the same PPI density as the 65 inch 4K version, and at the distance I'll be using it, and the space it will be in, this suits my needs perfectly, and it's basically as close as a TV in it's class can get to OLED levels of colour vibrancy, with 99.97% colour accuracy and a basic HDR 'good enough' level of 600 nits, with as nicer deep blacks and anti reflective screen that eill be ideal for horror,as I'm going to get at this size.

Also, my wife finally has a nice way of displaying her photography without needing to cover the house in photographs.
