Got 'em. Got the mf'er finally. Loading everyone up on speed pictos and applying slow every chance I got finally gave me the breathing room I needed. I just want to throw a special thanks out there to Verso and his End Bringer. Without you and your stun lock nonsense, none of this would've been possible bro.

Now I can finish the game.

What contorso lumina farming glitch do you refer to? For lumina farming, the best way I read was repeatedly going back to dunk on Clair Obscur for 5 lumina each. I still haven't booted the game back up to finish yet, but the only issue I see is saving Maelle's first attack for his second phase to one shot it. I'll just have to make sure the others can take him down first.

I think a big problem with the game isn't so much the lumina farming .....I think there needs to be a cap on how many luminas you can equip at once to keep it challenging.

As far as end bringer/stun lock verso which I haven't dabbled with, I just use machine gun verso and end with follow-up if I'm trying to kill with him. That's supposedly his strongest move, but I'm not sure if the stacks carry over on his play again. I heard they patched that out.

Yeah, it's the Clair Obscur fight. Basically you equip level 31 Contorso on Verso, your standard offensive pictos, inverted picto, last stand pictos, and machine gun pictos. Auto death the rest of your team. He goes in alone and wrecks shop. Takes about 10 seconds per fight. And if you're using Contorso, instead of 5 lumina, you get 10. Every loop took me just under 90 seconds so you can farm 100 in about 15 minutes. I ended up farming like 225. After, everyone was between 225 and 260 for lumina.

As far as Simon, he's a challenge. Machine gun didn't do anything for me. At least my build. But I haven't looked up any builds so no idea if mine was optimized. 100% sure it wasn't. All I'll say for Simon is try to go in blind and do it that way before you start looking things up. The only thing I looked up for Simon was googling things like "Why is Simon such bullshit" and from that, I gleaned the basic strategy based on people mentioning certain pictos to use. I was pissed at that point so wanted to see what other people were feeling about him. But even with that knowledge, I was getting my ass kicked. I literally reset all pictos on everyone and carefully selected everything just for that fight. After I did that, then I finally merc'd him the next round. My Maelle is a nuke but she's a mini nuke. She absolutely couldn't one-shot Simon with how I had her set up but she one-shots everyone else.

Downside to building for Simon was that it completely trivialized the last guy. Never even got to see him make a move.

Simon is meant to be tackled after beating the main game, but I didn't know that the game will allow you to roam the world and continue after finishing it.

Yeah so basically he's FFX Penance where to stand a chance "the right way," you have to absolutely max everything and everyone. Or.....you just Zanmato has ass.

I choose Zanmato Stendahl. Sorry not sorry.

I didn't realize that he was so much more overpowered compared to the last guy. But the nice thing about this game is that you really can make it as easy or as hard as you want based on pictos and skills. Really appreciate the fact the devs gave you so much freedom. I didn't need to keep my Simon kit equipped so definitely my fault for not changing the loadout.

If there is one gripe I have about this game, it's that it can be tough to gauge how hard an enemy is going to be and how hard you'll hit them. I can go to one area and steamroll everyone, then I'll go to another area just a hop away and deal with someone who's a tank and can hit you like a ton of bricks.

I think they could stand to make it more clear that narratively you're supposed to go straight to the finale in act 3 and save the tons and tons of optional content for after you finish the story. I only did two sidequests before heading for the end (the third axon and finding Lune's parents' expedition log) and that had me in just about the right place to really appreciate the finale.

That and no minimap are my only real complaints. I feel like the interactions with the party characters are so well done they make up for the lack of real towns.

Probably my game of the year. The only thing I can get into after it is Just Cause 4, mindless explosion and destruction porn.
