Do you enjoy bowling? Lately, I've really been enjoying bowling.

Been going about once a week. Always using rental shoes and house balls thus far, but I've got my own gear on the way. Only cost me like $150 for everything: ball, bag, and shoes. A small investment for a new hobby, I figure.

My highest game is a 167 with four strikes in a row, but apparently it gets easier with your own ball, etc. I'm brand new so there's a ton of room for improvement.

I never knew there was so much involved here! Things like differing oil patterns on the lanes, symmetric vs asymmetric ball cores, the materials your ball is made of, the way the type of finish on your ball itself (more friction grabs the lane better), etc.

Did you know ancient Egyptians invented the sport over 5,000 years ago?!

Or how about that Germans used the game as a literal religious practice where the ball taking out the pins represented them cleansing themselves of their sins?!

Plus bowling alleys are just awesome places to go with friends, family, coworkers etc. Apart from the lanes you've often got a full bar, an arcade, a restaurant, and a pro shop for all sorts of accessories to help you improve your game.

The world would be a much better place if everyone just bowled more, I swear.

Taking up a hobby with balls and phallic looking pins. Anything you'd like to tell us, teezzy?

Haven't bowled since I was a kid. Pretty sure all the local bowling alleys are gone too.

Haven't bowled in years. We don't even have one in my area that I'm aware of. :/ Can't wait to move out of here

Use to go bowling at least once a week growing up. There was a bowling alley within 5 minutes walk of my parents place. Good times. Think my highest was 220+. My mother has like 3 or 4 perfect games.

Also where I fell in love with Tekken 2.

I enjoy bowling but used to play a lot more when I was in high school. When a new government program came out in year 9, we were allowed to choose where we would play sports from a selection of places. I chose Bowling for 3/4 terms and had heaps of fun. Because so many of my year chose bowling, after that year everyone's choice was taken away and people were forced to go to the other stupid activities like the gym, rock climbing etc. instead. I regret nothing.

bowling cool at a arcades because you can bowl instead of play the arcade games most of them aren't interesting anyways

It actually arrived today. I dropped it off today to get my fingers measured and the holes drilled.

Nothing crazy. Not even a urethane ball for hooking. I'm too much of a beginner for that

15 pounder, getting my name engraved in it with rubber grips in the holes. I liked the colors

Awesome. My kids are bowling and skating now. I use to love bowling in a league with some coworkers. How often are you bowling?
